My first experience was the birthday lunch with colleague at Grand Brasserie. The servers were very attentive. Food was good. They have a lunch combo that's very good value. Because it was my birthday, they also sent us a cheese cake. Then I stayed there with my significant other for the evening. First went to the Long Bar, the ambiance was very good, jazzy with live music. There was an oyster bar but we didn't try. The room was excellent - it was not very big but compared to the other hotels I've been to, but I think Waldorf Shanghai has paid attention to details. I especially liked their walk-in closet. The bathroom was spacious with Ferragamo toiletries. I liked the marble floor in the shower room and the hair drier with the changeable diffuser - good small details. Also, the fresh loquats in the room was a nice touch. The breakfast - good selection of food and fruits. I wouldn't say they have the largest selection but the food quality was good. In conclusion, I'd recommend this hotel. Heard they also have nice brunch on the weekend with free flow champagne - never tried that though. :)
