I stayed at the De Watercant Lodge on 35 Dixon St Oct 28-Nov1, 2010.
THE GOOD: Wonderful Staff, Late Checkout arrangement possible for a fraction of the night's cost, Safe Street and Good Neighborhood, Decent Price for the room, Many restaurants and "The Zone" Gym in the area.
THE NOT SO GOOD: No air coditioning in the rooms, and even in the spring in Cape Town the house gets humid and warm. Ceiling fans don't cut it even in the spring, just imagine how HOT it must be in the summer months in the rooms.

Exelent service froom the owners. We stayed at the 141 self catering house in Waterkant street, arrived early but the owner let us put the luggage in the house while it was cleand.
Nice of them and good for us.
The house was a two floor house and had a big super nice terrace on the second floor, perfect for breakfast.
The beds were comfy and the rooms quite nice.
the location was good and safe ( a guard on the street all night looking after the cars and so on.)
There were just a little thing we didnt like, the shower room at first floor was mouldy and smelld not nice. A upgrade of this room and you kan put one more star on the wall because everything else was wery wery nice.

“Great little B&B in the Waterkant District”
Cute little B&B in walking distance to the Waterfront, Long Street, the shops & open air markers. Some great restaurants within a block radius too. Hotel room was nice with a full sized spa tub and patio overlooking the neighborhood. The staff is great & definitely aims to please. If your looking for a full service hotel probably wouldn't be a good choice but otherwise would recommend.
