“Fantastic hotel in an amazing location.”

Abbey Manor was the first stop on a three week holiday in South Africa and we couldn't have had a better start. The welcome from Dee was friendly and relaxed and the stress of the journey disappeared immediately. We were offered tea on the terrace by the pool and knew we were going to enjoy our stay. The room was ready for us whenever we wanted but found it difficult to drag ourselves away from the garden.

Whilst having tea, Dee asked if we would like to talk about what we planned to do, if we needed maps, if we had made any dinner reservations or if we just wanted to chill out and discuss later. She couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given all the info we needed for that day and were shown to our room.

The room was stunning (Room 1) - large, light, stylish and a fantastic modern bathroom. It took the front of the whole first floor. The views from the large terrace were breathtaking both of Cape Town and Table Mountain.

After a fab night out in the recommended restaurant and a good nights sleep we went down for breakfast which included a very good selection of juice, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses. The hot options included pancakes with chocolate and cinnamon, scramble eggs (beautifully cooked) with smoked salmon on muffins or croissants, sausages and bacon.

Both Dee and Judi chatted to each guest at breakfast to offer advise (if required) on where to go, places to eat/ drink, sights to see. Both so helpful and friendly and their advise couldn't have been better. We felt that we had seen the best sights and ate at the best restaurants available.

It is definaltely somewhere I would stay on a future visit to Cape Town and have already recommended to friends and family. Look forward to seeing Judi and Dee in the future.

Thankyou so much for a fantastic stay.

Room Tip: All rooms in the main house seemed to have a great view but Room 1 was definately the winner. Whole...

“Fanatstic base in Cape Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Really comfortable haven. Great attention to detail. We loved our room on the top floor with the roof terrace overlooking the spectacular Table Mountain.

Judi was brilliant, full of top advice to get the very best out of our trip.

We will definitely go back to Abbey Manor.

Many Thanks!

“Wonderful Guesthouse, made leaving SA even harder !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

Abbey Manor deserves all the success it is achieving. We loved our stay and couldn't fault a thing. Judi and Dee were charming and so helpfull. The guesthous is immaculate and the bedroom sumptious with great views over Table Mountain. We had a very late flight home - Judi and Dee did everything to facilitate this in the most hospitable way. Many thanks for a great stay.

“Brilliant start to our honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

Abbey Manor was the first stop on our South African honeymoon. Judi was so helpful when we arrived, providing information on what to visit and how to get around in Cape Town, as well as making sure we visited Table Mountain on our first day when the weather conditions were perfect. Our room was very comfortable and there was an amazing choice provided for breakfast. Views of Table Mountain from our room were stunning. Although not in a central location, there were numerous restaurants within walking distance, with details of the best restaurants in the area provided in our room. It is also a short downhill walk to a stop for the open top tourist buses that stop off at all the major attractions. Staff were also very helpful in booking restaurants, taxis and excursions for us. Would thoroughly recommend.

“Top notch service at an excellent guesthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2011

If you enjoy excellent personalized service rather than a staying at a large impersonal hotel this is the place for you. We were consistantly amazed at the outstanding level of service offfered by Judi and her staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always available to assit you with planning day outings, ordering a taxi, making restaurant bookings, etc. Breakfast was excellent and more elaborate than I would have expected at such a small place. The manor is quite lovely with lots of old world charm, We had the garden cottage by the pool which was quite nice except for the gurrgling noise made by pool heating pipes on the roof but that stops at about 10pm so it's no trouble to get a good rest. The location is quite good as well, set at the foot of table mountain you are a 10 minute walk to restaurants and shopping. There is a great cafe just across the road that also acts as a corner store. Thanks so much for an excelent stay.

Room Tip: The garden cottage is nice if you want extra privacy
