Abbey Manor was the first stop on a three week holiday in South Africa and we couldn't have had a better start. The welcome from Dee was friendly and relaxed and the stress of the journey disappeared immediately. We were offered tea on the terrace by the pool and knew we were going to enjoy our stay. The room was ready for us whenever we wanted but found it difficult to drag ourselves away from the garden.
Whilst having tea, Dee asked if we would like to talk about what we planned to do, if we needed maps, if we had made any dinner reservations or if we just wanted to chill out and discuss later. She couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. We were given all the info we needed for that day and were shown to our room.
The room was stunning (Room 1) - large, light, stylish and a fantastic modern bathroom. It took the front of the whole first floor. The views from the large terrace were breathtaking both of Cape Town and Table Mountain.
After a fab night out in the recommended restaurant and a good nights sleep we went down for breakfast which included a very good selection of juice, fresh fruit, cold meats and cheeses. The hot options included pancakes with chocolate and cinnamon, scramble eggs (beautifully cooked) with smoked salmon on muffins or croissants, sausages and bacon.
Both Dee and Judi chatted to each guest at breakfast to offer advise (if required) on where to go, places to eat/ drink, sights to see. Both so helpful and friendly and their advise couldn't have been better. We felt that we had seen the best sights and ate at the best restaurants available.
It is definaltely somewhere I would stay on a future visit to Cape Town and have already recommended to friends and family. Look forward to seeing Judi and Dee in the future.
Thankyou so much for a fantastic stay.
