travelled with my sister for 5day break 2nd- 7th february 2012 we found the staff, especially the reception staff extremely helpfull and courtious, my sister had her passport stolen while we were there and the staff went out of their way to be helpfull I really cannot praise them enough. The hotel is very central our room was large well decorated and very clean The food is buffett style we were half board, plenty of choice for breakfast, evening meal again a varied choice the only criticism was that if you went for your meal later rather than early it was not always very warm I would definatly stay at this hotel again

Room Tip: we had a room on 5th floor with good views over the harbour

This is the worst Hotel services I have ever been in holiday. I booked 4 star hotel Las Palmeras in Fuengirola, Spain specially it says internet is complementary. When we got there hotel stuff very rudely said it was booked by some other company and not easytobook and for every 20 minute of internet I have to pay 1 euro. Hotel was labelled as 4 star but it was no where near 1 star. People in the hotel were the rudest I have ever met. Really bad bed and shower did not have any pressure with either too hot or cold water. 6 days I could not sleep because it was so noisy outside you can hear everything in your room. I will never go to this place again and will not recommend at all.

I go on holiday with an open mind, I'm not fussy, as long as the hotel is clean and friendly then i'm nomally happy. This hotel however was so underpar it's untrue.

Upon arrival we were treated like an inconveinance by the staff. The lobby smelt very damp. When we arrived at our room we found that they hadnt cleaned the room and there was dirty nappies all over the room. Ok I thought this isn't good but we wont let it bother us, I told reception and they seemed angry that I bothered them, however they did get it cleaned and sorted straight away. Once we finally got into the room I found the safe that I rented was broke, again reception was quite rude but they did fix it straight away. The air conditioning weren't very good at all, but I decided not to complain about this.

The first day at the hotel was such a pain but we wouldn't let this ruin our stay. The food was below standard though, everytime we went into the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal there was never ever anybody in there, at the most 5 other couples, the food was terrible, it was getting better towards the end of our stay but we ate out quite a bit because it was so bad.

We were warned by other Brits about the pool area and how it was freezing out there and not to go near it, this was fine by us as we liked the beach anyway. The one time we traced up there it was full of Spanish families and young kids who acted like animals, couldn't of handled annoying kids, but thats just my personal preference.

We were very disppointed with our room though, we were in a room facing all the discos and they were that noisy that I was kept awake most nights, if the music didnt keep me awake then the poor air conditioning kept me awake because I was just that hot. I really should of changed rooms because the rooms opposite ours were apparantly better and you couldnt hear the music and drunken people partying till 6am.

We love Fuengirola, this was my third stay in the resort and first in the hotel, we didnt let the hotel ruin our holiday but I most defintely would not recommend this hotel nor will I ever stay in it again.

But this is just my personal opinion.

“4 star??????”

This hotel is advertised as being 4 star; run as it is now it would be lucky to get 1 star
The building the beds, furnature, towels etc are beginning to look tired but not as tired as the staff who I found to be rude and most inefficient
The food!! to describe what is seved here as food, contraveines the trades description act, pig swill sums it up better
The walls are thin and there is noise from ajoining rooms, the disco bars across the road from the hotel are noisey throughout the night, not closing until dawn
Cheep and definately not cheerful, probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in

Room Tip: To find a good room go to another hotel

“Ok Again”

Stayed here again for latest golf trip and things really havent changed much. Housekeeping service still good with well cleaned rooms, breakfast is plentiful - you will find something to eat even though the cooked choices for those who like their hit of bacon and eggs isn't terribly appealing, efficient reception team.

The only real issue I had was that we were all allocated rooms at the front of the hotel this year and the noise on Fri and Sat nights was terrible from about 2am onwards. And that was even after we all had a few pints!

Bottom line- as before great venue for golfers but I wouldn't go for a family break.

Top Tip 1 - Ponchos Argentinian restaurant (out front doors, turn right, walk up to Bowling Palmeras and it is right opposite) is seriously the best steak around. Our group of 4 all eat out regularly in the UK and abroad and none of us have had a better bit of beef.

Top Tip 2 - Bar Atlantis (immediately next door to Ponchos) is a great little bar for a drink and they (Peter and Sandra) know how to look after their customers. My friends and I were kept well supplied with San Miguel and G&T and they showed real concern when one was struck down. Make sure you send some business their way - you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Rear facing rooms are quieter
