“Excellent - friendly and restful”

We have just stayed for a few days at the Casa Mercedes as a post-Christmas break. The weather was warm so breakfast was served on the balcony sat looking at the views of the sea and mountains. Nerja is a very likeable town with everything you could need and more restaurants than you could possibly get through on a holiday. The beach near to the hotel (a short walk down quite a steep hill) is the best in the area. The caves just on the brow of the hill are unbelievable - easily the biggest caverns packed with stalagtites we have seen. Casa Mercedes is in a quiet sideroad and opens out onto lovely views with the dawn breaking straight across the balcony of our room. The Hostal is very well run, is welcoming, well equipped, and better than most hotels. There is parking outside and you are a ten minute walk from the beach and from the centre of town. We had one of the suites which was newly redecorated and had a more than ample balcony to sit out on and stare at the views. The smaller rooms have balconis which looked like they might miss out on some of the sun so it might be worth checking to make sure. We loved our time in nerja and wil definitely be going back. When we do so it will be back to the Casa Mercedes.

“Spotless retreat with 5* treatment”

The suites are to die for with stunning views. The owners couldn´t do enough for us over breakfast without being in our face. They even cooked omelettes of our choice and had baked homemade cakes. The twin that our friends were in was rather basic but ask for a deluxe room and that´s exactly what you get. Try this place before paying the earth for a hotel...you won´t be disappointed.

Room Tip: Junior suite or Suite for a romantic break

“Great place ,amazing area”

I agree with all the the good reviews this place has.
I had a very nice stay here.

Big, clean rooms, nicely decorated bathrooms, free WiFi , free parking on the street, a few minutes walk to Burriana Beach and kind owners.

The breakfast (fruit, pastry , coffee and juice) is served both inside and outside on a small terrace with a very nice view.

“A lovely, friendly, family-run place”

I'm not sure how the Spanish define hostal and hotel but this place beats some of the five-star hotels I've stayed at. Technically, I guess it is a B&B (breakfast only, no restaurant and no bar) but the rooms are spacious and clean, the beds comfortable, bathrooms enormous and the breakfast is plentiful, fresh and great.
It's only a 5 minute walk down to the best beach in the town - a bit more coming back up the hill, but the whole of Nerja's like that - and about 10-15 minutes to the old town centre. Plenty of restaurants locally and Mercedes (yes, she owns the place) will recommend local snack bars and point you in the direction of the weekly market.
We started in Room 1, which was a bit enclosed (but still spacious) and were lucky enough to spend our last night in the mini-suite (room 12?) with a lovely terrace and views out over the sea. Both were exceptional value for money. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Some rooms have terraces and rooms on main road side may get some traffic noise. Ask when you book.
