When we rolled up, I was skeptical. Beautiful design, but I thought I was about to be the biggest nerd at Hipster Summer Camp. However, I found that despite trendy appearances, The Ace has a lot of sincerity. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were super comfortable, and the bar scene was energetic, without being too crazy. Plus, they have fun activities - Monday night Bingo was a blast!

Unlike some other reviewers, I didn't have any trouble with the noise, but to be fair, my room was a little bit of a walk from the main pool area. Conversely, the daytime scene is incredibly laid back and relaxing. I spent a quiet afternoon by one of the smaller pools, while my friend got some treatments at the spa.

This place is great if you're traveling with friends or a significant other. Works best for laid-back people who aren't running on a tight schedule, as you'll want time to take advantage of the many amenities. Definitely not recommended for families with kids.

I have never stayed over night at the hotel but use the restaurant, bar and pool several times.
The food: truly inconsistent from ok to poor
The drinks: hit or miss, some drinks arrived with basically no alcohol in it and very poorly mix.
The pool: when you charge admission for swimming, You would think 86 / 87 degree is what you would expect like most small hotel in Palm Springs but not at the ACE.
If you go:
I believe they have an "happy hour" order a pepsi and cruise around....The rest will be a waste.

Someone took a dumpy old motel and turned it into a pretty nice place to stay. I loved the room with a small private and fenced courtyard in front where you could sit at a table and have your wine. Cement floors make the room really great if you have dogs. Comfy bed and cool furnishings. I liked the room design; modern and spacious. Two pools. I found the pool lounges a little saggy due to their rope design but the environment was clean and quiet. Bar is really tiny but then you aren't there to hang out in the bar, are you? Considering that you are in Palm Springs, I found this place to be very reasonably priced.

I have stayed at the Ace in Seattle, Portland, and New York and perhaps I was expecting a little more out of the Palm Springs hotel. It is designed well and the rooms are meticulous. However, the party scene and pool music destroyed any ambiance of the desert. The non-stop hipster alternative music was redundant and loud at the pool. It would of been nice during certain times of the day - but at other times it seemed unnecessary. I pretty much felt like I was in a T.V. commercial.

Honestly, I would of preferred to stay at one of the cool small boutique hotels that provides a more hipster vibe by being a little more under the radar and I get to the know the owners.

Also, the bikes that the Ace provided were in desperate need of maintenance.

Cool hotel, but I won't stay at it again...
