Been for lunch many times on special occasions and quite honestly you would have to search high and low in Miami to get better food - the pool and beach area are amazing too - just like the prices !! Only go on special occasions as your well earned coffers will deplenish rather rapidly.

Have stayed a couple of times but only on business to impress the clients.....

Room tip: No tip necessary - a suite is more comfortable that the all large rooms..........

Lets face it, Setai is not cheap. But, unlike some other luxury hotels, Setai is actually value for money. Everything is just perfect, the rooms, the sound systems, the drinks, the three pools and not to mention the insane breakfast. The only problem is that once you stay at the Setai, you will have a hard time staying in other hotels.

My husband and I are locals who spent the day at the Setai during Miami Spa Month. We received a couple's massage, spent the afternoon by the pool, and ate at the restaurant overlooking the water. The facilities were gorgeous and the service was unsurpassed. The hotel does not scrimp on the amenities. We received complementary bottled water, cool towels, and a refreshing spray by the pool. The locker rooms by the spa were immaculate and had everything you could want (including a flat iron for beach-worn hair). The Asian couples' massage was the best we ever received. Although we did not spend the night, we would love to do so for a special occasion in the future.

We have enjoyed many stays at the Setai. The design has been enjoyable and it has felt luxurious. Our recent stay we were faced with compromises that made us shorten our stay from 8 to 4 days. When we complained to Sebastien, the manager, he tried to fix the problematic room by moving us to a suite. However, the suite faces the city and doesn't seem relaxing due to the bus noise and view (see attached). The hotel seems not to hear the voices of its luxury customers and I would encourage them to work on problem solving. The hotel is showing its age and no one should feel like they are compromising at these prices. Rooms ending in *16 are terrible with no view. And suites are overstating the experience. It must be tough for them given the limited number of rooms and expectations of the new owners.

The Setai is an excellent hotel and probably the best in South Beach but was just shy of excellent for a couple of reasons.

Firstly the service was excellent throughout except for a lamentable lapse with valet parking. For $42 a night I really expect them to be able to return the car within 15 minutes but they failed on a number of occasions.

Secondly, the room, in the low rise part of the hotel is well appointed and very comfortable but curiously things did not work: the bath plug failed to stop water draining away, the coffee maker never worked and the socket in the bathroom for the hairdryer did not work.

Minor quibbles I know but they just show a hotel that needs to improve a little.

On the plus side, the pool area is excellent and no where near as noisy as the W, the breakfast was fantastic. The position is good but just away from Ocean Drive and probably the better for that.

I would definitely stay here again.
