The employees were very nice. For the price, it was a nice hotel and easy access off highway. Much cheaper to stay in Elkhart when visiting South Bend. The only suggestion I have is making an outside smoking section on the side of the building. Im not a smoker and every time you walked in the front door it was crowded with smokers congregating.

Just down the road from South Bend, the area is much more affordable. Room was clean, nice little pool, friendly staff and a decent breakfast. What more could you ask for? Also a pretty good selection of restaurants nearby.

We had just gone to Shipsy to blue gate and finished up our week here to get points. Choice was offering a 2 night for 1 free Econolodge. I made a mistake by not " registering" for the deal and did not get credit for 6 nights at Choice hotels even after being a choice " privileges" member for 9 years!
Stayed here about 7 yrs ago and I guess I'm getting spoiled in my older age. Seems the Sleep inns are going" downhill" a little.
The bathroom lights and sliding doors are very cheap.
Will try a different place next time.

I was on the toll road in pretty bad weather. Sat in the interstate for 2 1/2 hours waiting for them to clear a bad accident. Decided to stop at the first exit with a hotel. I'm a Choice Hotels Rewards member, so was hoping for a choice hotel. There were actually several choice properties near by, but Sleep was the closest and cheapest. Sleep Inns have smaller rooms and small bathrooms with no tubs, only showers. That didn't matter to me. The two employees I talked to were EXTREMELY pleasant and VERY helpful. They gave me information on nearby restaurants and also who delivered. I ended up with a local pizza place that delivered. My room was across from the entrance to the indoor pool which made for a lot of hallway noise. Hotel staff did enforce the pool closing hours at 10, but if you want to sleep before 10, request a different room. There was a door between my room and the next. Lots of noise traveled through that, too. Room was clean and well maintained. Bedding was comfortable and the heater worked well on a bitterly cold night. Wifi was slow at times, but the hotel was full of people, who could not go outside and the wind was howling.

Room tip: rooms 108 and 110 are across from the indoor pool entrance. There is a lot of noise. First floor hallway in general had a lot of traffic.

This place was ok. The front staff seemed nice. Rooms are a little outdated could use a facelift. The pool area was ok. Didnt get to enjoy it to much. A lot of people there and alot of screaming kids. But hey that's what pools are for. Breakfast was decent. Wifi was decent.
