At the last minute, I decided to getaway for a fall weekend. Although I've been coming to the area for years, it was my first time at Sierra Sands and it was a perfect place to stay. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, well kept, and very helpful/friendly staff. It's a great family owned alternative to the chains. Close to lots of outdoor activities. I'd recommend it for families or individuals traveling in this beautiful area.

Room tip: Rooms face East or West. So decide when you want the sunlight to come in your room!

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Very clean, spacious room with microwave and mini fridge. Best of all, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Very glad we chose this hotel and will be sure to book here next time we come out to the dunes!

Front office staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a notebook of all the area restaurants' menus. Rooms were very clean. Nice showers. As good or better than a lot of the chain hotels. Will definitely being staying here again.

We stay at this hotel every Father's Day Weekend for our annual trip to the dunes. Very clean inside and outside, family owned and operated - super pleasant people! Staff has always been very accommodating in regards to our request for the same room year after year.

Room tip: This is a 2-story hotel (stairs only) with each room having its own entry door. Keep that in mind if you don't want or cannot do the stairs, if you have small children that will not be willing to do the stairs on their own, or if you have a lot of "stuff" to haul in.

Check in and out was extremely easy and Sean at the front desk was very friendly with suggestions on what to do in and around Mears.

The beds were comfortable, room and carpet clean and bathroom clean.

This is a two-story hotel with an outside walkway. There is an outdoor pool, large play area in the back with fire pit and wood should you wish to start a fire and bicycle rentals on premises

It is within walking distance of the downtown area.

I would absolutely stay here again.
