As they say on their website, all of the lodging has a great view of Superior and I'd have to agree! Beautifully appointed "north woods" lodging, comfortable bedding, in a stunning setting perched on the shores of lake Superior. Nearby is the Rock Agate Museum and store, don't miss it! Plan to take a stroll or hike along the Superior Hiking trail or explore the nearby State Parks. The Palisades are to the north a short 10 mile pretty drive. Although magnificent and prominent, you could drive right by and miss the postcard view (like I did). To the south is the Split Rock Light house that you may want to explore on the front or backside of your trip with a nice museum trails and view. Although I attended a corporate business retreat here recently. I could imagine a romantic get away or family fun. I would go back and my husband and I own a resort with cabin rentals on a lake! For families, beyond the pool, public fire ring and hiking not sure how you would fill up an entire week as there is not much else around. The event facilities supported our group of 20 to 25 comfortably- not sure I would go much higher than that number if a presentation needs to be viewed by the audience. The staff was friendly & helpful, but not flawless. There are two restaurants on site and the lodges have a fully equipped kitchen, which is nice for an extended stay. The food was high quality and generous proportions, but we had delays with each of our meals being served. For a business event or group over 10 people, I would consider pre-ordering your food or planning for appetizers! Overall I had a very good experience and wasn't quite ready to leave.
