First of all, we were there for a corporate party. My husband and I decided we would extend it into a romantic weekend getaway and stay a few days. We had dinner and drinks in the restaurant, then continued downstairs for some pool and snacking. The beef tenderloin dinner I had was delicious as was the desert. Fry bread is better in the hands of the First Nations or the Back Room in C Falls. After closing the pub, some of us headed to the pool, some to our rooms. We had dropped our stuff off at the room but this is the first time we had spent time in the room. We couldn't get the heat to kick on. For the first half hour we kept our coats on. My husband went to the bathroom and put the lid down only to find feces on the toilet seat. I went to put food in the fridge only to smell something odd and stepped in something wet. The fridge was dirty. There was a beer in there that froze, then burst. That beer was all over the inside of the fridge and then ran out on the carpet...that's what I had stepped in with my socked feet. When the heat wouldn't kick on, my husband was really close to packing up. There was no assistance answering any dialable # on the phone. I understand it was 3am, but we needed assistance. -15F degrees outside with no heat. He ended up going on a walk looking for assistance while I continued to work on the heat dials. About 10 min after he left the heat came on. We finally fell asleep around 4. The bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable. We were both awake at 7 and decided to cut our losses and go home and get some sleep. We had planned on staying in the area, eat breakfast at the buffet, enjoy the hot tub, and do some snowshoeing. We were so disappointed with this high-end lodge, we cut our losses and went to the Echo Lake Cafe for breakfast, then headed home.
