“Quiet oasis...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2012

I booked a 9 night stay through agoda, prepaying before I left Australia and was a little apprehensive after reading some of the not so good reviews. Well, what can I say other than WOW!
This boutique hotel is a gem! I arrived late at night to be met at the airport with a cold towel and drink and transferred to reception. Management greeted me with a refreshing cocktail and the check in process was smooth and easy, great after a long flight.
I had requested a quiet villa at the rear of the property prior to arriving and was told that villa allocation could not be done, yet, I was given a villa as requested.
The villa was spacious, clean and smelled fantastic. Services such as the complementary iPod, Macbook and iPad were a nice touch. I bought my computer with me and appreciated the free Wifi available in the villa, along with the Apple TV - again complementary.
Housekeeping deserves a special mention. They are fast, discrete and thorough. Each day my villa was serviced and cleaned to the highest standard, fresh towels and robes each day.
The bed was very comfortable and water was supplied constantly, if I needed more, I was given it for free...no dramas there.
Food? I didn't eat at the restaurant, choosing to enjoy meals in my villa. They arrived fresh, hot and were delicious each time. Crusty warm croissants, fresh juices and lovely dinners. I ate at a few restaurants in Seminyak and found the food served here too be of a high standard.
The mini bar could be a little better stocked, prices reflecting normal hotel rates, so no surprises there.
I had no problems with mozzies or bugs.
The pool in the villa was cleaned and chlorine levels checked daily and there was a great mix of shade and sun, depending on what I felt like at the time. The furniture in the villa is comfortable and well maintained. It isn't the funkiest look, but fit the balinese theme and I liked it.
The spa was dreamy, expensive by balinese standards, yet still way cheaper than what I would pay for the same services in Australia. The staff were efficient and professional.
The walk to town was 10 mins and fine. bali will never win accolades for it's footpaths! The location of The Elysian was perfect. Close to everything, yet far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.
Overall, I had the most fantastic stay, which exceeded my expectations. I stayed for a relaxing spa break and I got it in spades.
This property's biggest asset is it's staff. From groundsmen to housekeeping, front desk to F & B, they were courteous, friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my requests in a timely and efficient manner. FANTASTIC SERVICE!
I leave here today feeling relaxed and refreshed and looking forward to a return visit. I will definitely be coming back to the Elysian.

Room Tip: Breakfast in the villa, in bed of course!

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2012

My partner and i spent 7 glorious days and nights at this beautiful hidden oasis set back from the beach and right in the heart of the action in trendy Seminyak. On arriving at the airport we were greeted by hotel staff, cold water, cold towel, which set the tone of our honey moon in paradise, they even have wireless connections in their cars. The oversized villas are a amazing with private swimming pool. The food, the staff, the service is fantastic and we could not have wished for more. We are definitely looking to go back again in future and recommend highly.

“Your own private getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

When I talked to my travel agent about "wanting to get away from it all" and that a luxurious spa might just fit the bill, I had no idea how perfect a place she would find. The Elysian is a villa hideaway. It's rooms are spacious, luxurious and well decorated. The bathroom was decadent. And, the private pool and courtyard are heavenly. They even loan out iPods, iPads or an Apple Laptop for use in your Villa along with the iTV with a list of about 40 movies to chose from. My only issue was that it is so off the beaten path that to get anywhere you have to have the hotel driver take you to your destination and then walk or take a taxi back. Some hotels in Bali will provide a driver service to and from, so given the elite nature of The Elysian, I was surprised that they didn't offer this service. You also need to walk quite a distance to get the beach. Aside from that, the breakfast choices were great! The staff was warm and helpful. The bartender even indulged me when I asked her if they served either Brem or Arak. The spa is nice and you get a 15 minute complimentary massage with your stay. Taken all together, The Elysian is a great place to hide away from the world and decompress in your own private oasis.

Room Tip: The Villas furthest from the central pool and bar are probably best since some nights they have live...

“beautiful place, nice people!”

we went there for our honeymoon and we were never bored...long flight coming from toronto, but it was definately worth it! the beach was a bit of a walk but that was ok. it was super hot in which i loved! beaches are not world class, but its not rocky either. if you are travelling far to bali make sure you have a game plan before you go so you know what to do and where to go. even though there are many things to do tours, restaurants etc. lovely place love to go there again.
the best part was the staying in the villa your own pool lots of greenery and we even had a private dinner in the villa which was great!

Room Tip: stay in the villa!
