“Good Hotel for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Stayed at this hotel overnight for a wedding in early November 2011. Priceline rate was 76 dollars after tax. Check in was painless. Front desk attendant found my reservation and got us right up to our room. The room was clean, bed was comfortable with good pillows unlike some places I've stayed. Bathroom is a little small for someone that's tall and over 200 pounds but it was clean. Breakfast was your typical 2 star continental breakfast with eggs, waffles, juice, toast, bagels. As far as people saying it's in a rough area it really isn't around anything.. the place looks to be in the middle of an old air field. The described neighborhood behind it literally has about 6 houses. If you're on a budget and easy to please its for sure worth the money .

“A good value for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

I gave this hotel three stars out of five, but I could probably be talked into moving that up to four stars, based on the price of the nightly stay. Unlike some of the other reviewers here, I found the room to be clean, although decidedly out of date. However, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well-maintained, and the other items for personal comfort were also kept well-stocked and available for use. The rooms had few "features" found in higher-class hotels, although it did have a coffee machine, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. For the price (which was VERY reasonable), I thought that the place did very well for itself.

The common facilities (dining room and lounge) were more than I expected, as was the morning complimentary breakfast. They did have the rather annoying habit of running out of coffee, which took about five minutes to refill, However, that wasn't really all that bad, and the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and reacted to my requests immediately. The maids were also very, very friendly, and the level of service in the daily room cleaning exceeded my expectations for this price of hotel.

One thing any potential visitor should know is that this is NOT a handicap-friendly place, and there is no elevator to get you and your luggage to the second floor. Once again, it's only one flight of stairs, but that might present a challenge to a wheel-chair bound customer.

Overall, I found this place to be clean, convenient, and well-worth the nightly rate. It is not a "first-class" establishment, but does not hold itself out to be that level of accommodation. I would gladly stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the first floor, as the stairway to the second floor is steep and a bit winding. Stil...

Just a place to stay one night on our way through. Should have read the reviews first.

The exterior door didn't lock, so not secure. The whole place smelled of food cooking...we wondered if the owners or managers lived there? Saw cable running from a satellite dish on the grass, above ground around to the back. The tub water wouldn't drain.

Not sure how hotel chains work, but I have never stayed at a Ramada that was like this.

We chose this hotel because it accepted dogs. Should have looked a little harder.

“Maintenance left a LOT to be desired...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Stayed here in September for Family Day at SUNY IT. The room itself was average, but the bathroom shower curtain smelled so musty, we had to leave the bathroom door closed; we could still get faint whiffs of it even then. We checked in very late and were leaving early the next morning, so we didn't bother to change rooms, but I am sure that this is the case for other rooms. I won't be going back. For the money we paid, even the Red Roof Inn in Utica would have been better!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else for a better room...

“DETERIORATING”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

I have been staying here on a regular basis for several years, and while staff are extremely pleasant and accomodating, the physical aspects of the hotel have consistently gone downhill. Smells very musty and a lot of repairs need doing ... shower bars falling off wall, tissue holder missing off wall, shower and tub grouting is missing and appears dirty.
