“Good basic family run hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

Rooms are basic - no toiletries provided so make sure you bring your own.
Shower in my room was very small and the shower curtain stuck to you as you showered.
Air-conditioned rooms which is great in summer as it does get hot and I assume that all rooms had balconies which is always nice.
Beds weren't the most comfortable but didn't expect them to be for the price.

Pool was a nice temperature and comfortable to sit around - I do think they could make it more inviting by providing pool side service or some sort of drink availability.

Only problem I found was that the cleaners start VERY early in the morning so when you are on holidays you don't want people knocking on your door at 8am. They slam doors VERY loudly each morning which is most annoying.

Family run hotel which is nice - very polite and helpful. Food in the restaurant is quite nice too.

It is located down the road from Oia which isn't ideal as you'll need to walk on the side of the road to get back to the hotel at night - that can be dangerous but then again, it really isn't that far. There's a bus stop across from the hotel which is handy and parking is provided if need be.

“Private Villa - worth the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

My husband and I shared a private villa with another couple we were traveling with for one night and stayed in one of the apartments the second night. Even though it was a bit of a pain to move our stuff, the private villa was totally worth it. Amazing views. Beautiful terrace to have a cup of coffee in the morning and sit back and relax. The villa had one completely separate bedroom and one that was separated by a curtain. One bathroom to share – for 2 couples was a bit much. Would work great for a family of 4. Tub was a nice size although, in both the villa and the apartment, the shower head was only hand held and couldn't be attached to the wall. very weird. The apartment shower was tiny and I kept on hitting the shower curtain. Views of the caldera from the private villa and views of the back side of the island from the apartment. Both were air conditioned. Nice walk to get to the main shops and many restaurants of Oia. Wonderful place to stay.

Room Tip: Go for the private villas. Amazing experience.

“Anemomilos Hotel and restaurant in wonderful Oia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Anemomilos hotel for 8 nights in Sept 2011. The photos on the website don't do it justice. We were greeted by Stelios, who gave us a choice of 2 rooms to choose from. Both had pool and oustanding sea views from a lovely balcony. We did not overlook the Caldera, but it was a nice change to see the other side, as we saw the Caldera views on a daily basis when travelling around.

The room was spotless and we received clean sheets and towels every day. We booked ona room basis only, however a few times we ate in the restaurant for breakfast and evening meals and it was just lovely, and very well priced.

The pool and pool area was kept spotless and we had daily visits from a lovely cat and watched the little birds bathing at the edge of the pool. I am not sure if it would be busier during the other summer months, but most days we had the pool to ourselves, and sometimes there were other guests, but no more than 6 all at the same time, so it felt like a private pool.
There were plenty of sun loungers on a daily basis. There is a well stocked shop oppopsite the hotel and restaurant, and also a bus stop. The village of Oia is absolutely stunning. We spent many days and evenings walking along the quaint streets, stunned at each view and photo opportunity around each corner. The sunset by the castle is a must- very emotional when everyone strats clapping as the sun disappears on the horizon.

i would recommend this hotel, this village and this Greek Island to anyone, it was just perfect. Thank you Stelios and his lovely Mother for making our holiday perfect. We hope to see you again one day.
Melanie

Room Tip: We had a non caldera view which was equally as beautiful, and also a pool view, from the second floo...

“Nice hotel for a reasonable price in Oia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

The hotel is at the beginning of the village only a short walk from the pedestrian zone of Oia although busy traffic makes the walk perilous at times. We had a sea view room with balcony. We sat there in the evenings and watched the much hyped Aegean sunset. The pool was a plus considering how far the hotel was from the sea. Shampoo, soap and shower gel were provided. Also towels and pool towels. Rooms had A/C and a small fridge. Hotel had a good wi-fi internet coverage. Continental breakfast was of limited choice. Same ham and cheese every day, toasted bread, cereals, cake and jam. There's a grocery shop just across the road from the hotel where we went to buy drinks whilst relaxing by the pool. Overall a pleasant stay.

“Outstanding, lovely, friendly, wonderful value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

My teenage daughter, her best friend and I stayed at Anemomilos Hotel for 8 days in June 2011 as part of a Volcano Discovery natural history tour. We absolutely loved it, and never again found a better, more luxurious and more friendly hotel in our month-long travels through Turkey, Greece and Italy. Anemomilos (Windmill) Hotel is the place for you if you want a special, authentic family-run establishment next to the caldera with beautiful views, an immaculate and refreshing swimming pool (very popular with kids), friendly owners and staff, comfortable rooms, attractive and welcoming restaurant and delicious meals. You could not do better in Santorini and will be very glad you stayed here and met Spiros Kokkalis, his mother Margarita and their family - lovely people.
