“Love this place!”

On our second trip to Jersey, after staying in a Hotel last year, we decided on Self Catering to give us flexibility this time.
We booked a car from the airport as we found out last year, its the easiest way to get around the island & i wouldnt go to Jersey without renting a car now.
The lodges at Les Ormes are fantastic! They are modern, clean, spacious and to top it off they have a hot tub! We wanted a romantic get away and this fitted the bill nicely. We made use of the hot tub everyday (even in the rain! to the amusement of the neighbours).
They have a dvd rental service - which is free, so in the bad weather if we didnt want to go anywhere this came in very handy. They have all the things you would need in a self catering lodge.
There are a couple of downsides, its not very private, you can cleary see your neighbours, especially when outside and as the lodges are right by Jersey Airport you can hear the planes, they start at around 7am (mid june) and finish about 8pm (mid june), we didnt find it a problem but you know that they are there. Dont let this put you off as its a great place.
I will be booking Les Ormes Lodges for my next visit to Jersey!

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

5 adults and one baby stayed in 2 lodges here at the start of September. The Lodges were clean, well maintained and well equipped with pots, pans, towels etc needed for self catering. Both lodges had one double bed, bathroom with bath, power shower. Also settee pulls out into a double bed. Best of all each lodge has its own hot tub! There is also a well equipped gym which is free to use if you are staying in a lodge, also a swimming pool with restricted times. There is also a restaurant onsite but the opening times varied each time we went there. Sometimes it was closed at 5pm another time it was closing at 745pm. A bit annoying but there are plenty of great restaurants around.

Lodges are located near to the runway at Jersey Airport but we hardly noticed the noise during the evening. (flights stop about 9pm and don't start up until 7ish in the morning)

We had a fab stay here and will definately be returning in the future for another holiday!

“Great accommodation.... Jersey a lovely place.”

Stayed at Les ormes in 2 lodges with 4 adults and 4 kids end of July/August. Accommodation is compact with 2 sleeping in double bedroom and kids on sofa bed, but it is Very well equiped and modern (dishwasher, washer etc). The jewel in the crown is the private hot tub that each lodge has, the kids and adults alike loved it. Did not really see much of the amenities of les ormes, restsurant, pool etc as we ate alfresco every night as the weather was so good (anyway could not get the kids out the hot tub).
First time in Jersey. The beaches were excellent. Pay a visit to Portelet beach i think its called. A beautiful beach with an island you can swim out to to explore or when the tide goes out can walk to . Jersey pearl where the kids chose their own oyster revealling a pearl, Lion park where you can Pan for gold. And not forgeting Jersey Zoo. A great holiday at a great place. Would recommened. Oh by the way it is BANG next to the airport but you just don't notice the noise and there are no flights at night.

“Showed Friend Jersey for First Time so we took 2 lodges”

Fantastic and friendly service from Les Ormes staff for this last minute booking. I brought a friend for first time to introduce them to Jersey, and this place couldn't have been better. The lodges were fantastically equipped and smart and clean. The hot tubs got used every morning and evening !!! I was concerned about airport noise - I know Jersey very well and checked Les Ormes out before staying and it is just across the road. However, whilst you can hear planes taking off, in no time at all I blocked that out. I was outside with my windows and doors open nearly all the time and was one of the nearest lodges to the road as well. I hope to bring the family back as they will love it too

“Great accommodation that is truly 5 star!”

Right, accommodation first. The lodges are designed and built to a very high standard and ooze charm and character. We live in a converted barn and felt right at home here! To be fair, two adults is just about right for the size but if you were bringing children, a couple of young ones would be just about the most you would want in order that it is not too cosy!

The site is very well located if you like planes! But to be fair the noise is minimal and actually gives you something to do when you are relaxing in the hot tub! Which are fabulous by the way. We were in it six nights out of seven.

Okay, now just a few tips from Jersey virgins like ourselves!

1. Breakfast on site is a beauty!

2. Breakfast at Living Legend is a joke. In fact the whole place is, I'm not surprised it is now free. The place is like something from the eighties. Unless your in your eighties, I'd give it a miss.

3. Pizza at The Tree House - Beautiful

4. Lavender Farm - Lovely place, but best from June onwards.

5. Favourite beach - St Brelade

6. Best Mini Golf - Just off the main road along St Ouen's bay. A small place that also does clay pigeon shooting and karting. Mini golf with a difference!

7. Best walks - advertised = Plemont - Grosnez and round the coast. Best non advertised = Anne Port along the wall and hills to St Catherine Breakwater Cafe ( which just happens to do great milkshakes) ;))

Overall the island is a good value, beautiful retreat with peace and quiet where you want it and activity and fun when you don't. We were very lucky with the weather, and having a soft top car made the whole experience very continental!

Overall It's not an expensive place and there are plenty of Spar / M&S / Waitrose etc on the island to stock up on your necessaries.

We hope the above helps and have a great time!

P.s We had a daily visit from ducks and a local cat who we named smudge! We promised them we would ask others to look after them like we did ;>}}
