“couples peaceful weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed Friday to Sunday in Room 4 and thought this was a really lovely b&b. Staff were very friendly, room comfortable and stylish, food was excellent. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the home made pizza which he liked so much he had it both nights. We also visited the Lochgoilhead Hotel next door for a few drinks and the holiday camp which was only a 2 minute walk. Neither of us could get a mobile phone signal but there's a pay phone at the Lochgoilhead Hotel and free WIFI access in the b&b if you need to stay connected (we took our laptop with us). I would highly recommend The Shore House Inn.

“one night stay”

Stayed on a Friday night, including dinner. Had the last room, booked only 4 days before - there was a local wedding, we discovered at breakfast next day - which was a twin overlooking a roof and the hills (and the cemetery 150yds away). Beds comfy, tv didn't work which wasn't a real issue but mentioned on departure anyway - they'd had a man in to sort tv's but he clearly hadn't done his job properly, not the owners' fault.
Upper landing did smell a little 'old', but it's an old building, so expected really.
Some live acoustic music in the bar which we could hear from the room. Not a major problem, except for the choice of music being played, rather cheezy!
Dinner was fantastic, we had steak (beautifully cooked) and venison casserole, wonderful flavours. Smoked salmon & cream cheese starter was a great choice as well.
Breakfast at a table by the window was lovely, super views down the loch (especially as previous night's rain had cleared the air a bit).

A relaxing and enjoyable time away. Thank you.

Room Tip: Live music on Fridays. Check early to find out if hotel is busy. Ask for a double if available.

Even with the view suspended due to foul weather conditions it's a fantastic place to stay. The warm welcome, comfortable stylish accommodation, excellent food and cosy bar created a little haven away from the gale.

Booked in for an evening meal while staying near by. Great food, lovely setting, would like to go back and stay there for a weekend sometime. Would highly recommend this establishment.
