“HOTEL el ALMIRANTE”

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in January2012 It was very noisy due the all the tile but I would recommend this as a very relaxing and comfortable hotel to stay at. The pool was so refreshing after traveling all day from Playas del Coco Costa Rica on the bus. The breakfast choices were wonderful and servings large. The staff were very friendly and helpful If ever we return we would stay here again

Room Tip: the upstairs rooms are quieter

“Enjoyable stay”

We spent two nights in this hotel while visiting Granada. The hotel was recommended by the staff at Costa Rica Unique Transfer and Tours in Playa del Coco, Costa Rica, and it lived up to our expectations. The location is a block and a half from the downtown square. The safety of the location was tested as the power went out in the town after supper. We walked by the light from car headlights and had no problems on our way 'home'. The staff is friendly and we had no communication problems. The rooms are basic but very clean and breakfast was included. Do not plan on sleeping in past breakfast time as the noise from the courtyard can be heard in all the rooms. The pool is of medium size but very clean and refreshing. This hotel is a good choice for a transient tourist who wants to explore the downtown area by foot.

“Nice but nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I was only there one night when my regular hotel did not have a vacancy.. I found the staff helpful and polite and everything else more or less average. I didn't try the restaurant. I might consider staying there again under similar circumstances.

“Great small friendly well-located hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

Our family of 5 stayed at the El Almirante in Granada for 4 nights. I believe it has 20 rooms and is built around a courtyard that includes a refreshing and clean pool. it appears to be newly refinished inside. W stayed in a "family" room that slept all 5 of us. It was very reasonable and included breakfast for all 5 of us too. This is not the Ritz. But its a new, clean, boutique hotel that is only 1 and half blocks from the central square, close to shops, restaurants, and banks - for much less than the older hotels on the square. All of the employees are friendly. And, Gabby is fluent in English and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. If we ever go back to Granada, this is where we'll stay.

“My home away from home....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

Ran into the hotel while walking around the city. A one year old "boutique" hotel with 20 rooms, pool and great kitchen. Located only 2 blocks from the Parque Central in a quiet safe neighborhood and 1/2 block from the main street of Atrevezada. The staff are very professional, friendly and attentive to your needs. The entire facility is always clean and the rooms have all different size beds and well stocked refrigerators. Everything is new and well maintained which is rare. And most importantly the price is great for a weekly stay.

Room Tip: Reserve a room based on the bed size you want. They are all good.
