“Wonderful 5 night stay. . .”

We loved it! Authentic, ambient, relaxing and cool! We based our stay in Granada region at Patio del Malinche and it met our every need. Staff is very professional, patio provides a place for resting or meeting other like-travelers. We loved the music, just barely present in the leaves of the trees surrounding the patio and pool, lulling us into a perpetual state of contentment. Truly, look no further. And, yes, do enjoy the owners recommendations on dining. El Zaguan was great. Cuidad -- even better. Plenty of recommended guides and drivers can take you to the more remote spots to see. Others mention the breakfast, the rooms, the cool a.c., if needed. We concur that, for us, we were well-advised by Trip Advisor to stay at #1!

“Little, welcoming oasis”

Recommended very strongly to us by frequent visitors to Granada. Short walk from main square. Wanted to return but was fully booked. Warm authentic staff. No veneer. No restaurant. Honest recommendations. Dine at El Zaguan, great service, & food. Reserve. Do not miss Encuentros for innovative cuisine, just off main square and on same street as Malinche.

Room Tip: Room 15, has queen and a double bed. Arrangement is very good for luggage access. It is only room wi...

“The first place we stayed in Nicaragua, and our favorite.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This was our first trip to Nicaragua and our first stop. The hotel is in a perfect location two blocks from the main street of restaurants in Granada, and two blocks from Central Park. Other hotels are ON the park or ON the busy street where it can get very busy and noisy. Hotel Patio del Malinche is close enough to be very convenient but far enough to be able to escape the noise. Friendly staff (helped arrange tours and transport from airport), great breakfast, very clean rooms. The TV is tiny...but you should probably be out an about anyways. The only negative is the price. We stayed there over Christmas so there might have been a premium for the holidays, but this was the most expensive place we stayed in Nicaragua and while it was our favorite it didn't have the amenities to justify the price.
We will stay here the next time we are in Granada.

“Nicest Place in Granada”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I can't really add much more to what's already been said, but this is a really nice hotel near the Parque in downtown Granada. They have very nice rooms, a swimming pool, good views from the upstairs rooms, a convenient bar and a very good breakfast. Highly recommended!

“A Welcoming Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

This is a wonderful place to stay in Granada. It is located close to the parque central, but not so close that you're right in all the hubbub. The rooms are simple but clean and appealing and both the hot water and air-conditioning function beautifully. The breakfasts are great and the bar makes a mean mojito. But the absolute best thing about Patio del Malinche is the staff. The owners, Lidia and Ramon, are super-helpful. Lidia helped us find two local organizations that we could donate soccer balls to, recommended lovely places to stay in Ometepe and San Juan del Sur, and personally gave us a ride to the bus station the morning we departed. The front desk clerks, Jessica and Isaura, are friendly, efficient and speak good English. My husband and I ended up spending five nights at Patio del Malinche - we were sad to leave because it truly felt like a home away from home.
