Il Cappucio is simply the perfect place for the perfect Italian holidays. The Umbria region is full of little known archeological and artistic gems and il Cappuccio is perfectly located to explore the region in absolute comfort and style. The setting is unmatchable: surrounded by nature and overlooking Cita di Castello, il Cappuccio offers the best of Italy. The hospitality offered by Gabriella and the total peacefulness and beauty of the place make it one of the best places I have stayed over in the country. Citta di Castello itself (about 15 minutes drive from il Cappucio) offers tourists a spectacular medieval city and a great variety of artistic and architectural wonders. Il Cappuccio is also very well located at the heart of Umbria and day trips to other Umbrian destinations such as Assissi, San Sepolcro, Peruggia, Gubio and Orvietto are easily done. I truly recommend this place; its charm, friendliness and hospitality make it the perfect place to relax and get to know the real Italy.

Forget Tuscuny! Il Cappuccio is the ideal Italian getaway holiday. Set in a truly isolated location overlooking the rolling hills of Umbria. The house/rooms were rustic but authentic. We had a great time and the hospitality and kindness of the owner was a joy. Be warned though that the you need to trek through some pretty rough terrain to get to the place, but once you get there you just enjoy the total peace and quiet. It's very close to Citta di Castello which is a lovely medieval town with plenty to see and do. We did many day-trips to nearby Perugia, Assisi and, yes OK, Tuscany. I even met my wife-to-be there, so... Highly recommended!

I stayed at Il Cappuccio for a couple of nights before going to a conference in Perugia. I had left London deeply tired, unprepared for my presentation, and tense. The next morning I sat on the steps of my Etruscan apartment, in the still and warm morning, holding onto a mug of coffee for dear life, not wanting the moment to end. Rather than paint the classic and picturesque rural scene, my recommendation is simply based on that moment, when all my strength and optimism were so effortlessly restored over breakfast in the sun in the heart of Umbria. Oh, and Gabriella, of course, whose spirit Il Cappuccio expresses.
