“Just fine!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

well being that we paid dirt cheap inc flights from edinburgh we cant really complain to be fair, but think its fair to say that you get what you pay for with regards to this hotel. The negative points are.. if you are a fussy eater then be prepared for the food to be a wee bit more exotic than your tastes would like. this hotel is predominantly for french clientelle, and with that in mind, there is a lot of cold meats and baguette/ pastries on offer. having said that we are scottish and the food was vaireid and well cooked (no dicky tummies during our stay) from what we saw the hotel in general was on the whole clean, and we had no issues, room was well maintained on a daily basis and towels changed. On the down side, if you are adverse to french people or thier entertainment, dont book here, as all the entertainment is offered only to the french and there is no offer whatso ever of any thing directed to any one of any other origion. The service by way of the bar and at lunch dinner the alcohol is free flowing and we had no problem getting served at the bar or during meals, although you are only offered rose or red wine or water (no other options) during meal times. If you speak any french at all, it goes a long way althoug the staff do speak spanish and english if your hard pressed. Positives.... the rooms as i said are clean and the hotel is well maintained, politeness goes a long way in this hotel. It is super close to the palma airpost, and is only 2 euros on the number 121 bus served from the airport per person, and the taxis are tarriffed at around 12 euros, there is no need for transfers as i see it to the hotel itself. there or back as there is a rank around the cornor from the hotel. hotel is in a great location just a 2 minute walk from the playa del palma beach which during the summer has hundreds of resteraunts catering for pretty much a german and european customer. (we found an amazing little cuban bar which had entertainment and great food and the most amazing mojitos and beers) funnily enough the 2 british bars we found were the places we felt most unwelcome. Poppys around the cormer from the hotel refused to put on any scottish football and claimed it was because they had a fight 2 years ago and lost our custom because of it the whole holiday (even though we are 2 females and an 11 year old child, hardly the fighting types) and there being no other customes in the bar in that particular afternoon. manager seemed a right bigot. so went alont to the manchester bar where we had a much better reception but still not any thing to write home about. there are regularbuses in and out of palma, which was a beautiful city and there are bikes rentals on almost ever corner of can pastillia if you want to cycle the 10kms. beach was clean and not in any way over populated! Hope this can be of any help to any one considering travelling to can pastillia. in summation. id say average hotel but great for the money.! happy holidays peeps!

Room Tip: room 216 and 215 are quiet but have no view at all see pics!

“good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

We stayed 3 nights All Inc. mid October. The hotel is great value for money. It was clean, with good sized bedrooms. The pool area was fine with enough loungers for the time of year. There is a lovely indoor pool/spa with sauna and jaccuzi. The staff were very nice and the guests were a mix of nationalities. Food was the normal buffet with wine served by the bottle.(Much better than other hotels of the same standard). The location is great for the beach and also the main road for local transport. Lots of eating and drinking places close by. My only gripe was that the bar served the drinks in little plastic glasses even in the evening- not a big problem. We would certainly consider staying here again.

Room Tip: We were 3 couples and we all given good rooms on different floors with different aspects and we were...

we originally booked the isla dorada hotel in el arenal. when we arrived we were told that we were to be moved to the hotel calma in another resort (can pastilla) we also had to pay an extra taxi fare ourselves to our other hotel. we were not pleased, and we booked through low cost holidays,
when we arrived at hotel calma in can pastilla. it seemed ok but very quiet resort.
we checked in the hotel which was very nice. and staff friendly . we later found out that this hotel was for the french, everyone inc staff spoke french, the food in the hotel was french which i did not mind because i like a variety of european food, there was a lot of pork dishes most nights and other foods, they were all edible and hot,,
in the evening there was french entertainment only french speaking, and also french bingo.
the rooms were ok clean and maid service every day. the rooms do not have much views and some have none at all, our room looked over other spanish flats and a huge rubber plant tree nearly blocked our view, the pool is very small. the photo in brochure makes it look big,
the hotel is near the beach and is very easy to walk there for disabled people.
there is also bus route to palma city No 15 which is only one euro 25 c

if you want this hotel its nice
enjoy

Room Tip: try for high floor rooms
