My husband and I and our 17 yo teenage daughter stayed at the Hotel Garni Aurora for four nights skiing as part of our extended European trip. We chose Samnuan as we wanted to stay in a ski area that was not filled with tourists and based on an earlier review decided to stay at the Hotel Garni Aurora.
It was a great choice!. Our hosts Juliana and Robert Wieland - Walser did everything possible to make sure our stay was a great experience.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Rooms are large and well fitted out.
The breakfast each morning, plentiful and varied together with excellent coffee, was of a high standard. The breakfast room has a magnificent picturesque backdrop of the alps.
Pictures supplied on the hotel website are exactly as they are in real life.
There is free high speed wireless internet and a safe for valuables in your room.
Parking is free and dinner is just a stroll or short drive away.
But what really endeared us to this hotel was the attitude of the hosts Julianne and Robert who kept a kindly eye on us to ensure that that we had no trouble arranging ski hire and lift tickets. Each morning guests are driven to the gondola (a couple of minutes drive) and will be picked up by Robert in the afternoon.
Juliana and Robert's kindness ensured our first experience of the Swiss alps and Swiss hospitality was wonderful and we can't wait to go back.
PS: the skiing was amazing
