First the bad.....I checked in late at night and got the last room. Stayed for 2 nights The clerk said it was a smoking room. I had to take it because it was late at night. I asked the clerk if I could change to a non smoking room in the morning she said "yes" just tell the day person.
At 7:30 AM I asked the day clerk (Brianna) if I could change rooms she said no because all of the non smoking rooms were booked. Later in the day I went back to grab a map of Olympia. A person came in to get a room and was asked if they had a reservation they said NO and asked for and received a non-smoking room. The plugs in room 221 are so loose that the plug socket will not hold a plug....you plug your phone ect in and it falls out.

The Good....The room was clean, employees nice. Basic room no coffee maker or fridge. Price was somewhere around $59.00 per night.

I found this motel 6 by circumstance and perfectly timed. The desk person, Chrissy was helpful and funny, and a great pleasure to work with. I told her that I ysmight need a couple more days until Sunday. She had given me a step up because what I had asked for was not available. But, she let me have the lesser price on this room. My days have been backing up so I was going to tell them Friday that I would stay another two or three days. When I returned Friday night at six, I couldn't get into my room; looking in I noticedthat nothing had been done to the room and all of my items were gone. The desk told me that the room was cleared so it could be made available. When I told them that I had said it might go over, they informed me it was policy. So, my things were removed from the room, not prepared even for me to take it back, just so they could put me on the higher weekend rates. I'm only taking it for one night because what the manager did, if not illegal, is certainly unethical and should be reported to the regulatory body the keeps motels from cheating the public. I will advise my associates that it is motel 6 "policy" to bump guests to a higher rate when possible. So, instead of waiting from 12pm to 6:30pm to find out what I needed to do for my business dealings, the manager decided to make more money an loose a customer. I will be following up with the regulatory authorities for further action.
Motel 6 Lee St. Tumwater, Was.

We stayed at the Motel 6 on our way through Tumwater and also on the way back. It was nice basic accommodations. They have recently renovated the rooms with new beds and have put new sinks in and also new showers which are quite cute. If you are looking for all the amenities of a regular motel don't stay here. There is no shampoo, hair dryer, coffee maker or clock but you can request a room with a fridge which we did and I think it was $3 extra. Also if you want to use their WIFI it is $3 extra a night as well. But for 2 people we paid $64 a night which is great for a one night stay. The pool area is nice and you can sit around it and relax. The pool itself was too warm, it was like bathwater which on a hot day is not what you want. Also it wasn't very clean, lots of stuff floating around on the top. We did find it very quiet at night though and slept well. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. When we checked in on our second time around our room wasn't ready but they got the cleaning staff on it right away and our room was ready in 30 minutes.

Room tip: If you want a room with a fridge just ask for one and it is $3 extra a night.

We were very pleased with the ratio of comfort to price at this little place and would rate it as excellent value.

The check in clerk was very pleasant, helpful and efficient.

This is an older property, but it was very clean and freshly painted both inside and out. The location next to the freeway was convenient, but we were a little concerned about road noise. This was totally unfounded as they had new double glazing that was excellent. We heard no road/truck noise at all.

The room looked recently decorated in a modern cheerful Scandinavian type design. No carpet, instead some sort of vinyl wood flooring which looked nice and clean and is certainly more hygienic than any hotel carpeting could ever be. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom with shower stall was spacious. Very, very clean. Thank you housekeeping!

This is not a luxury resort, do not expect a minibar, microwave, concierge or beach side cabanas. What you will get is a quiet clean room.

An added plus was the inexpensive on site laundry - which I did use, also very clean.

We walked around the corner to El Sarape for a late dinner. A mistake, nice waitress but food was somewhere between mediocre and poor.

So in summary a good value place if you are passing through, or also a good place if on vacation and plan to tour by day and just need a central place to sleep at night.

For 1 night is good.,but no more.,
Services of maid is lousy- asking for towels 3x.
No coffee maker in room,no microwave, not even tiny fridge.
Checking in was good and fast and pool clean

Recommended for overnight only.

Room tip: rooms in back side are probably quieter, but for one night does not raelly matter
