We loved our stay here. The staff was exceptional and friendly. The food was great also. Great seafood chowder and kalamari. There were so many choices of things to do, and they were all right there or close by. We rented the water bikes and went for an hour cylce which was a good workout. We went sailing on a sunset cruise for a couple hours and met some great people. We golfed with the package at Alderbrook and enjoyed the course. We also joined people we met there at Salish Cliffs golf course about 30 minutes away and really liked that course. Our room was great and the beds were comfortable. All the people we met staying there were very friendly. I would highly recommend this place for relaxation or for highly active people. There was lots of great hiking nearby that we didn't have a chance to explore.

We stayed in a cottage and while we will most likely return, there were some disappointments.

We stayed in a cottage based on the photos and amenities described on the website. When we arrived, the room was not fully cleaned (will spare details), and the room conditions were not worth the cottage prices. Outdated and unkept carpet, old appliances (not cleaned either - hand prints, stickiness, etc.) and I did not want to sit on the furniture. The walls were all banged up in desperate need of a paint job and repairs. If we stay there again, we will stay in the hotel rooms which appear to be better maintained. The cottages are rustic and definitely not maintained. Also, the check in time is 4 p.m. and the check out time is 11 a.m. Not good for a one night getaway.

There are some great upsides though. Nice spa on the location, good food choices - absolutely 4 to 5 star food in the restaurant with very above average prices or patio choices with simple options such as hamburgers, fish and chips, etc. It is amazing to sit on patio furniture to avoid the view while drinking cocktails and chatting with friends and family. Really amazing view and relaxing environment. There is also a rental place for kayaks, boats, etc. and a dock area so you can play in water. The pool is so amazing (check out photo on website) but not well maintained. A little dirty with hair, debris from outside, etc..

I also thought the staff was very polite and patient. Given how busy it is there, they are all doing their best.

Great place to relax but given the price tag, need to hire better housekeeping staff and as noted above, address the cottage conditions and needs to repairs. We would never stay in the cottage again - do not recommend unless you do not mind rustic, somewhat dirty and disheveled conditions.

I've stayed in some amazing places before. That being said, I'm not a travel/hotel snob however there are a few things that are very important to me which this place fell short of.

1. We told them our dog was coming and there was nothing in the room for him. (no dog bowls for water/food) or dog bed. I expect this if I'm paying an additional $30 per night for him.

2. This place was FILTHY!!! Holy hell....I spilled some water in the kitchen (we stayed in a cottage) and went to wipe it up with a kitchen towel that was in reach. Few drops of water....cleaned it up...was stunned beyond belief that the towel I used was nearly black. The floors were filthy...gross! Umm...and our room was over $500 a night and you didn't clean the floor for at least the last decade? Unreal...

3. Don't expect to feel special...you're not. The resort staff from valet (girl held the door for me but was a snot) to the maids....it's all about them. They will not move, turn, accommodate in any way.

4. 11AM check out? This just sucks....

5. I booked a cottage. I thought I would be the only one but they are actually 2 cottages together...you'll have neighbors....close ones.

6. This place is dated. Look around.... I've stayed at Suncadia, Cave B, Woodmark....all destination hotels. The carpet was hideous. The curtains were old. The couch was a joke. The bed was not even pillow top. Single ply toilet paper??!!! Yep!!

7. Room rate continued going up. I booked a special rate, called in to verify and was given another rate. Showed up and the rate given was even higher!!!

8. The picture makes the cottages look like they are right on the water...they are not! We had cottage 10 and it was not even close....no view.....no nothing.

Few things I liked

1. Location - it's gorgeous. Views are amazing!

2. Restaurant on site - Food was great. Drinks were good.

3. Check in - Craig was VERY kind and nice.

Best advice...go during the off season. Ask for them to mop the floor...(should go without saying but wow!) This was completely ridiculous in August 2014....

We've been there several times and always love it. Beautiful spot, great service, friendly staff, great amenities...I love their beds and bed linens and lotion. You can be as active as you want or just relax.

Room tip: Water view adds a lot to the experience.

We did not stay in the resort. We went for a day trip to enjoy the beautiful scenery and have lunch. This is a fantastic location. During the summer they have music outside , lovely grounds including a great dock and many activities available such as kayak rentals etc The outside lunch was overpriced but nice. Inside lunch only lasts until 2. Still pricey but better preparation. Beautiful views fr anywhere inside.
I would love to come
Back here and rent one of the cottages. I do believe if you book well ahead you can get better pricing and package deals. Oh yes also dog friendly.
