“Rivera Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

The Rivera might be the best keep secret in Wyoming! I always have a hard time leaving, service is outsanding and the rooms are the perfect balance of comfort and function.

Room Tip: The cabins have great kitchens in them.

“We loved this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

My wife wanted to stay here after seeing all of the positive reviews. She picked a winner. We were on our way from Yellowstone NP to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and needed a place to stay along the way. The owner, Emi, was very personable and open about the history of the facility and the area. Our cabin backed up to a river/creek and we sat outside behind our room and drank wine and enjoyed the cool August temperatures while the sun sank. The rooms are great sized for 2 people. Our room also included breakfast--and what a breakfast! I was expecting doughnuts and coffee and got a breakfast that I would expect to make for large family--eggs, casseroles, and more. An excellent breakfast!

Would we stay here again? Absolutely. But make a reservation as it fills up fast!

Room Tip: Get a room that includes breakfast!

“A happy surprise in comparison to the hotel chains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

We spent the first night in Pinedale in a chain hotel room, depressing, smelly, dark and noisy. 2nd day we asked at the Pinedale outdoor store and was recommended to this lodge, which hugely improves our trip experience. We were put in a double room which the owner said is 'smallish', but there is a comfortably sized bathroom, a kitchen (where one can sit in table and work), and very soothing bed. Furnitures are simple but to the point. Little set-ups here and there that makes one's stay feel homey. The night is spectacularly quiet. The breakfast (which the outdoor store said is amazing) was warm, tasty and filling. Would recommend it to anyone who dislike chains.

“Our favorite Wyoming Home Away from Home”

This was the 2nd year we stayed at the Rivera. We like the proximity to hiking, the cozy rooms, & location next to the stream. But what we especially love is the proprietor, Emi, who we call our "fairy godmother". She is a great cook & these breakfasts really stick to your ribs when you go hiking. Also she helped set up an emergency dentist appt, stored things while we went backpacking, & let me use her phone for an hour to set up the next leg of our trip. Her dog, Bird, is also a real sweetie.
