Such a beautiful dream cabin to stay while you are in the out west! It completed my romantic fantasy about Wind River Range. Dexter and Carole are so nice, the cabin and the land are so pretty.

First, Dexter and Carole are incredibly nice as the couple owning the place. Second, the MOST interesting place BY FAR I have ever stayed but I don't stay at a lot of B&Bs to be fair. Anyway, Dexter BUILT the log cabin I stayed in and it was interesting just to look at the construction/features....heavy wooden bolt doors with wedge locks, the stone chimney that has one side in the den and the other side at the front of the bed, and one cabinet door that covered a corner cavity and was a "right angle" door for some examples. There is a complete kitchen with refrigerator, utinsils, electric grill, etc. The bathtub was excellent with shampoo and lotion supplied. The log cabin was huge with 2 large rooms + the bathroom. The bed was perfect except it was high off the ground. Shorter people may need a step stool to crawl into bed. :-) Breakfast was AWESOME. The ONLY negative was a bad selection of TV stations....I believe a grand total of 3 as obviously they just use an antenna to get reception. Those stations had good reception but if you want to watch a TV show a particular night, don't book that night. Overall however, this place is a MUST stay as far as the cabin goes anyway. They have other rooms so I can't review those obviously. BTW, the place is reached via a 2.5 mile paved road off of 191 south of Pinedale and then maybe a .25 mile drive up a grinded down gravel road. I paid $45 I believe for the night.
Our three children were thrilled to see horses and chickens on the ranch. This was a bonus in addition to the comfortable beds and pleasant breakfast we enjoyed. My wife has allergies to most animals, but had no problems during our stay.
We made reservations three weeks a head of time. Showed up and no one was there. We went out to lunch drove around went back and still no one answered the door. We also called several times. Finally around 8 p.m. we checked into a local hotel. No one ever returned our phone calls.
My wife and I needed a place to stay in Pinedale while on a weekend business trip. We rented the cabin for one night, and were pleasantly surprised in every way. The proprietor, Dexter, built both the house and cabin, and the craftsmanship in both structures was impressive. The cabin features a sitting room/kitchen with a fireplace, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The decorations represented Pinedale well, and gave the cabin a very cozy feel. The bed was quite comfortable, all appliances worked well, and the whole cabin felt immaculately clean, especially the bathroom. The evening was very peaceful and comfortable. For breakfast, we were invited into the main house (with our dog) and were served an assortment of breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, homemade bread, and fruit juices. We left Pole Creek Ranch B&B as satisfied customers, knowing that our hard-earned dollars were going into the pockets of well-deserving locals and not a national corporation.
