Lae Nani Unit 524 set the stage for one of the best vacations my husband and I have ever taken. The property is lush, meticulously maintained and quiet. The unit is beautifully updated, decidedly upscale and well equipped. The kitchen is small but stocked with everything we needed to prepare simple meals and, if we had wanted to whip up a gourmet dinner, it would have been fine as well. The king bed is roomy and truly one of the most comfortable I have slept in anywhere. The main bathroom is decorated like a jungle and having the extra half bath was a bonus. Coming from the desert, we were a little concerned about the lack of air conditioning, but three ceiling fans and a good cross breeze were enough to keep us nice and cool.
Lae Nani Unit 524 is a true oceanfront unit. It is the perfect spot for a Kauai vacation regardless of whether you want to sit on the lanai and watch the waves roll in or get out and see the rest of the island. Its central location on the east shore makes day trips to the north, south and west shores a breeze. If you like snorkeling, Lydgate Park is about a mile south and has a safe, boulder-enclosed pool with a fair amount of fish feeding around the rocks. If you're willing to drive to the north shore, though, try Tunnels Beach. Its...Lae Nani Unit 524 set the stage for one of the best vacations my husband and I have ever taken. If you're willing to drive to the north shore, though, try Tunnels Beach. Its teeming with a huge variety of fish. The reef is so large it can be seen from outer space! Be cautious of the coral, however, and try to enter and exit where the bottom is sandy so you don't walk on the delicate reef.
Here are a few things we learned about Lae Nani after we arrived that might be helpful to know. The property is gated but there is public access to the beach in front. You are advised to lock up the unit when you are away and not leave valuables on the lanai or otherwise in view. Fortunately, the small groups of non-guests who utilized the beach during our stay were all very well mannered and quiet. There wasn't a rowdy person around, not even on the Fourth of July. Cable television and Wi-Fi are both available but reception is unreliable. If you're coming to Kauai, you won't want to waste your time on the computer or in front of the tube anyway. Enjoy!More
