My son went to Gettysburg College, so I've had the opportunity to say at a number of the hotels in the area. They Wyndham is a newer hotel, and fairly large in a complex with a Marriott Courtyard and a theater of Rte 15. The rooms are nice, beds just ok (not bad but not great), smaller tv but a good number of channels. They're very nice at the front desk and check-in was not a problem. I haven't noticed any highway noise from 15.
The hotel is a short drive (2-3 miles) from downtown Gettysburg and the college, so not much is within walking distance. The trade-off is that the hotels closer to town are older and generally not as nice. (There is one historic hotel on the Circle which is suppose to be very nice and right in the center of town, but I've not stayed there.)
The Wyndham is one of the hotels that I've gotten by bidding on Priceliine, but note that during tourist season (summer) and when freshmen are moving onto campus this is a hard hotel to get.

Clean, very nice, and friendly staff. The lobby is beautiful and they are pet friendly. Overall, I would stay at the Gettysburg Wyndham anytime I'm in Gettysburg.

Staff and quick, pleasant, and eager to please. Rooms were very clean, fairly spacious, and well maintained. Very quiet. Bathroom small for a family of four, but it was manageable. We will come back and stay here again!

I stayed in this hotel for one night when I visited Gettysburg as part of a tour group back in June 2011 and it was probably the best hotel that we stayed in on our whole tour. My only regret was that my visit here was so short -we were quite literally in one evening and out the next morning.

When we got to the hotel -presumably as part of the benefit of being in a tour group -we were greeted with complimentary drinks. The foyer of this hotel was beautiful and the room I stayed in just blew me away -it was just absolutely everything you could ask for in a hotel room and so much more. The design and the furnishings combine historical beauty and stylish elegance with a modern comfortable ambience. The room has all the luxuries, amenities and comforts of a modern hotel and was absolutely wonderful beyond words to stay in. I cherished my time here and was very sad to leave just after one short night -I would love to have stayed here for longer and hope to return one day

Did not use any of the facilities here for lack of time but, reading the hotel room's manual, what they had on offer seemed very impressive and comprehensive. I

This hotel really does a credit to such a historical city and staying here was definitely one of the highlights of the tour that we were on -quite a few other members of our tour group agreed that this was the nicest hotel that we stayed in throughout our entire tour. I can't even begin to recommend this hotel highly enough and staying here was a privilege and a pleasure
