The room seemed clean, nothing to write home about. However, the morning after we arrived, we had no hot water - we had to take cold showers and were late getting to our morning reservations. Then when arriving back that evening, housekeeping left the blinds wide open for the any and every one to view our personal belongings. The next day when we were leaving, we were woken up by construction drilling in the unit next door. Then ten minutes later, our door opens up by someone (no knock or anything). Thankfully we had the safety lock on. We got a late check out, but they never told housekeeping, so again, they came to try to get in our room. The hotel didn't charge us, which was nice, but every time we called, they could have cared less and hadn't planned to tell us they were refunding our money until we check out! Horrible customer service! Even after emailing the manager about these things, he could have cared less!

Thank you for contacting Trip Advisor regarding your recent stay. I am very disappointed to read your review and hear you did not enjoy your stay.

I was very glad to read in your review that the Guest Service Agent you spoke with at check-out took the necessary steps to remedy the situation by providing you with a refund of all charges.

It is our goal to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. We rely on our guests to let us know when we have fallen short.

Again, please accept my sincere apologies, and I do hope we have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Would you come to Savannah quite a bit in fact we just bought a place in Savannah. However I will say that this property while yes it is directly on the main strip a base street it is a little bit run down and could use some definite updates. The room was okay nothing to write home about but still if savanna can be very pricey so if you're looking to stay someplace that's not gonna break your bank this is your place just don't set your expectations too high.

Thank you for taking the time to review the BEST WESTERN PLUS Savannah Historic District!

I am excited to announce that the hotel will be completing the guest room renovations to include all new beds, bedding package, draperies, plantation shutters (in our beta tests we have seen noise issues reduced by as much 50%), and that’s in addition to the new flooring and 37” LED TV’s by February 1, 2015.

Thank you,

This motel is right in the middle of town and you can walk to anywhere. One block to the river and one block to the City Market. Having said that this motel is old and because of the location it is very noisey. However the worst part is the mold. I looked at 4 rooms on the first floor and found one on the second that only had a little mold. When we were there it rained most of the time and the mold is very unhealthy. Also because of the rain there were "street people" at night looking for shelter in the walkways. When you book besure they tell you there is a 15.00 parking charge per day. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was fine. I don't think I will stay there again unless they do some updating and clean up.

Thank you for your Trip Advisor Review.

I was very disappointed to hear about your negative experience regarding the hotel's condition. I am happy to say that our rooms are currently being updated with a scheduled completion of February 1, 2015. The BEST WESTERN PLUS Savannah Historic District employs off duty police officers to patrol the property and enforce the policies set forth by the hotel to include removing vagrants, so rest assured I'll be speaking with the officers on duty the night of your visit.

If you would like to share any further information about what transpired during your visit, please feel free to contact me directly at 912-629-2101.

I sincerely apologize.

Clean room, friendly staff, okay breakfast. Some attention to the seal around our room door would probably have made for a quieter experience, minimizing the surprising noise from street traffic (even at very late hours). Some attention to the powerful vibrations of the room HVAC unit would have allowed us to use it and sleep at the same time. Still, for Savannah, the price was good and the location was very convenient. There are rear-facing rooms that would have to be quieter -- suggest asking for one if you plan to stay. Hope for an HVAC unit that is usable (quiet enough for sleep) if evening temperatures are not comfortable without it.

Room tip: Ask for a rear-facing room -- avoid anything fronting Bay Street.

Thank you for taking time to review our hotel.

I apologize for the loud air conditioner and noisy streets, and I am sorry if it interfered with your stay in Savannah. I will have Maintenance repair the air conditioner at once.

I hope you are able to visit us again in the near future to enjoy our newly renovated rooms and expanded breakfast.

Thank you,
