The property and amenities were incredible - the first night! The next day, a crew showed up to strip the hail-damaged roof, and the workers were banging all day until 9:31pm! Made for a dismal day in dismal outside heat, to boot. The owners apologized profusely the next day after breakfast and refunded the second night's stay, which was very fair. The room quality was outstanding, with a choice of options either at check-in or upon making the reservation. I did mine on the phone, which worked out great. We got a couples massage off-premise scheduled; and it too, was fantastic! It was nice to disconnect from the internet for two days and nights. Yes, they have wi-fi, but one reason we were on vacation was to ditch the cellphones and actually ENJOY ourselves! The ONLY reason for the four-star rate from me and my wife was the roof stripping and the noise and inconvenience it caused! If not for that, the stay would've been top-notch across the board. Will we go back? Absolutely!

Room tip: The second-floor rooms with balconies have a commanding view of the lake, with great sunrise/sunset views, depending on the room.

Thank you for your kind and fair review of Lookout Point! We are so sorry that you experienced the challenge of a new roof. Unfortunately, tennis-ball sized hail severely damaged our roof, and created havoc in our entire area--with no control on what week the roofers would arrive. (we actually expected them the week before your stay).

Since this was the first time in 14 years we needed a new roof, we really hope that you will come back for another stay at Lookout Point. We'd love for you to experience the true tranquility, peace & quiet, and pampering that comes with a stay at the inn.

Again, thank you. All the best,
Kristie

My husband and I certainly enjoyed out 2 nights at this lovely lakeside inn. We travel often and always seek out cozy bed and breakfast type establishments. This one has been one of the best! The property is breathtaking, rooms delightful with every imaginable convenience thought of. Our own private porch with rockers to sit on while sipping and munching on the daily complimentary wine and snacks was a highlight. We found outstanding food in the area at 3 establishments and thoughroughly enjoyed the boat trip extended from the owner of the inn as well. We hope to return soon!

Room tip: private porch was a plus for us.

Dear Nancy,
Thank you for taking time to write such a lovely review! It's great to hear that you typically stay at bed and breakfasts. We appreciate your choosing Lookout Point, and hope that you will return in the future. Every day that I serve breakfast to our guests, my breath is taken away by the beauty of Lake Hamilton , and the gardens at the inn. I'm glad that you appreciated the lake view!

Sincerely,
Kristie

The location was perfect for my vacation, which consisted of renting a boat on Lake Hamilton and seeing the baths. The inn has a dock out back for your boat if you decide to rent. I loved the food they prepared and the 'home atmosphere' that this place has. I look forward to visiting this spot again!

Room tip: All the rooms are great and have a view of the lake.

We stayed in the Pocohontas room which included a balcony with rocking chairs! Each morning we walked down the hall to get our coffee then returned to the balcony! Very homey. We took the boat tour with Ray. We canoed. We walked/exercised in the surrounding neighborhood. The yard/gardens are beautiful. Everything we would in a place of our own. The outdoor breakfasts were wonderful!

You will want to return to this B&B again and again. The service is absolutely one of a kind! The staff is so welcoming and helpful. We have stayed in several different rooms and they are all exceptional, though our favorite has been the Romance Suite. The linens in each room are the softest we have ever slept on, so much so that we later bought the same ones online. The view is beautiful any time of year and the gardens are so well manicured. The canoe can be taken out whenever not in use, free of charge. Our favorite part of this B&B are the delicious, homemade breakfasts and fresh squeezed juices. Each breakfast has been top notch and is not made until you sit down, so it is always fresh! We also purchased the Lookout Point cookbook so we could have the recipes at home. We love this place!
