My husband and I stayed here for New Year's Eve. It was quiet, peaceful, beautiful grounds, clean, comfortable beds, amazing breakfast...we were happy with everything about this place!! The Inn keepers, Vincent & Lola, are fabulous. As soon as we pulled in, Vincent poured us a glass of wine and gave us some very helpful tips about where to eat, listen to music, etc. We set out to explore the city on two of the cruiser bikes that they have available to their guests. The location turned out to be perfect...walking distance to the heart of the French Quarter, but still far enough out to get a quiet night's sleep. As soon as you get inside their gates, you feel like you've discovered an oasis. A true diamond in the rough :)

We stayed in the Jean Louis Suite this past Halloween weekend, 2011!

Our "suite" was like a little cottage - 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom. One of the bedrooms is basically just another room in between the living room and the kitchen. The other bedroom is private. It worked out fine for us, we had one couple in the private room, one person in the bedroom, and one person in the living room. You could fit 2 in each bedroom and at least one in the living room. It is a great place to hang out during your downtime, with a deck type porch running the entire length with tables and chairs. The kitched is adorable. Small, but functional and it is nice to have a fridge for drinks and leftovers!

The bathroom is also very cute, but this is where the only downside to this room is. There isn't a shower. It is a huge tub with a shower head that comes out of one side in addition to a normal tub faucet. I did not mind this really. The guys did a little I think, but they got over it!

The location is perfect! The owners are so nice and make you feel right at home. We overslept and they brought breakfast to the room, seriously they are awesome!:)

The outside is really nice too, We brought drinks out one night in the little garden and it was really nice.

I love New Orleans and will be back. When I am, I will absolutely be staying here again!

My wife and I decided to spend Thanksgiving in New Orleans and decided to lodge at the Garlands Guest Estate due to its proximity to the French Quarter. While this was our first trip to "Nawlins", we felt as if we had a good grasp on the city after sitting with our host Vincent after on the first morning of our stay after our gourmet breakfast(included with the price by the way). Vincent was very knowledgeable and helpful and even made reservations for us at Arnaud's(which was a fantastic restaraunt in the French Quarter.

Our lodging was beautiful as we stayed in the Louis Armstrong room which had a full bath, kitchen, bedroom, and sitting room. The decorations were tasteful and the room was as clean as could be expected when staying on a historic property.

The property location is in the Treme which is right on the border of the French Quarter(about a 1/4 block away). While it does not give the outside appearance of the most desirable neighborhood, the propery is gated and once inside, any concerns withered away once you were able to relax in the centuries old garden on the property. There is both a gate for your vehicle and a pedestrian gate which are both locked 24 hours a day.

All in all, it was a great stay and fantastic introduction to New Orleans. I don't know that we would have seen it any other way. Will stay at the Garlands Estate again if we are ever back.
