I've been coming to NOLA for Jazz Fest every year and have been here a couple of times for New Year's and Voodoo Fest. All those times, I stayed at nice hotels, but this NYE, my partner and I wanted to stay in something different because honestly, I was getting tired of staying in hotels especially the ones where you can't store water in a fridge because they will charge you an arm and a leg if you remove "one of their stupid bottles". Plus, I like to have a kitchen in the room just in case you don't want to go out to breakfast or want to make a quick snack. I like having the option of cooking your own food or warming up your leftovers then constantly going out to eat. I know it's NOLA and there's amazing food everywhere, but sometimes I like having that option. If you want something different and want a place where it's clean, great location, and want privacy, this is a great alternative. It has a cute courtyard that you can just hangout and relax. Also, you can buy some groceries at the French Market or another local market and store it in your kitchen. Plus, they have a coffee maker and provide Community Coffee which is a Louisiana coffee and taste great. They don't provide daily housekeeping which for me is fine because I can't stand someone knocking on my door every morning and waking me up especially a long night of out. Plus, if you're able, you should clean your own room, seriously. They do provide clean towels every other day which is frequent and convenient.
If you want a recommendation on places to eat or check out places of interests in NOLA then you can walk into the office and ask the owner who is awesome and easy to talk to. He's pretty knowledgable of the city and surrounding areas. Plus, he can steer you away from the touristy parts which I appreciate it.
Bottom line: if you want to stay in a clean, great location, and non-hotel like place, I would highly recommend St. Philip French Quarter Apartments. We liked it so much that we booked for Jazz Fest before we left.
Room Tip: You can always call them and they will truthfully tell you which rooms are quieter.
