I was invited to have dinner with friends who live in Estes Park. None of us had eaten at the restaurant but we had heard that they served organic healthy food. When we arrived I noticed that the main lodge looked very shabby and run-down. The exterior could really use a fresh coat of paint. When we entered the lodge we were all immediately aware of how cold it was. It was freezing! The indoor temperature could not have been more than 40 or 50 degrees! The lodge and restaurant interior also looked very run-down and could definitely use some updating. It looked like nothing had been changed since the 1970's. We were seated at a table that was next to a pool table where 2 guys were playing pool. It did not make for a quiet pleasant atmosphere. We were expecting really fabulous food when we ordered because the prices were so high. I ordered a veggie burger for $14. I was very disappointed. The bun was stale and dry, The veggie burger was very dry and was falling apart, there was no mustard or mayo added to it, and the french fries seemed old and stale. My friends had Chinese food but they did not think that their food was special and it was certainly not worth the high price that we paid. The only good part of our restaurant experience was that our server was very friendly...More
