First of all, we, as the wedding couple, want to say that this and the other two judgements below are based on a group stay at La Loggia during our wedding in september 2009. These judgements are for this reason not really applicable for individual travellers.
To our opinion we had a fantastic wedding: real Italian, many guests, long tables, good food, nice wines and perfect weather. Together with 75 of our closest friends and family members from Holland we cellebrated our wedding for two days. We really loved it and enjoyed the fantastic Tuscany atmosphere. We want to say many thanks to Ivana and here staff for all the effort and love she has put in our wedding. We and most of our guests had a great stay.
Unfortunately, or maybe luckely, some things that went wrong, you don't hear on the day of your wedding. However, we do feel really sorry about the comments stated here below ours. Unfortunately we were not able to please all our guests. Maybe it is better to give also an explanation of our side.
Around 60 guests stayed at Fattoria La Loggia for at least one night. We, as the wedding couple, decided to ask for a financial contribution to all our guests for their overnight stay. To make it easy for ourselves, we didn't differ the contribution between guests, everbody paid the some amount of money. Besides, we as the wedding couple made the distribution of the rooms and not La Loggia. Some people therefore had to share an appartment with 8 adult people, some people had to sleep on a sofa bed, while other guests had a newer room for just two persons. Unfortunately this lead to the small problems mentioned in the comments below, which we feel really sorry for but were not aware of before or during our wedding.
About the appartments and rooms in general we can say the following. All appartments are nicely decorated in warm Italian style, we really loved this. Some of the appartments are restored several years ago (eg. Frantonio, Sara, Quadrifoglio, Toretta, Zuccoli). These appartments are really worth the money. They all have nice kitchens and bathrooms. Some other, older appartments are still nicely decorated rooms however the bathrooms and kitchens are more back to the 80's. Bedrooms are large enough.
Besides our wedding we stayed at la Loggia two times before and we are planning to go next year as well. The service we experienced is always good. Ivana really wants to help here guests. During our wedding we had the same good experience.
Dealing with a large group is always difficult and mistakes will be made off course. We therefore also have some recommendations to La Loggia.
Some things could have been included in the total rental price (e.g. playing music in the evening, using the large kitchen, make use of personel, free entrance to the swimmingpool for all our guests).
Some rooms/ appartements are not suited for the amount of people stated on your website when it are adults. They are however well suited for families with children or people who don't bother to share.
We had some problems with water pressure and temperature in the morning when everybody wanted to take a bath or shower.
Breakfast in general can be a little bit more fresh and divers. Pay more attention to the breakfast. Maybe Italian people like to eat more sweet things, northern/western people also like to eat meat, cheese, eggs, nice fresh bread, fresh fruit. You have so much nice fresh food in Italy.
Some of our guests behave inappropriately to (y)our opinion. We really appologize for them. However, flexibility is key in these kinds of situations especially when the place is rented for two days.
As a conclusion we want to say that we, and most of our other 60 guests really enjoyed the stay at la Loggia. We really recommend it to other couples who are planning a wedding in Tuscany. To all the other people who are planning just a trip to Tuscany, if you want a peacefull, inspiring, romantic and relaxing stay, Fatorria La Loggia is the place to be. You feel home immediately.
La loggia, see you next year!
