We have just returned from our annual family trip to the Gold Coast. We are regular visitors to Boulevard Towers, and have been for several years. I have read a number of the reviews, and agree that it is a great place to stay, as long as you are in a renovated unit. So as others have said, either request to see your unit first, or request to be booked into a unit that you know has been renovated. We have always managed to secure Unit 40, on the 11th floor, and have been very happy. The unit has been renovated, is certainly not dated, and is well-maintained. The position on the 11th floor is a winner in my opinion. I really wouldn't want to stay in any lower levels, as the lower floors can be quite noisy due to traffic noise and the ocean. Before we found Unit 40, during one of our earlier stays, we were booked into a lower lever unit (level 4 I believe), and we ended up moving hotels as we couldn't stand the noise and no other units were available.
We really didn't have any issues with the unit being unclean. I like to keep things clean during our stay, so having a vacuum, broom etc available in the unit was a bonus. The appliances all worked well, and we used the oven, dishwasher, fridge, toaster, microwave, TV, DVD player and washing machine. We found the beds to be very comfortable, which is very important in my opinion. There is an air conditioning unit in the living area, and whilst there is none in the bedrooms, we felt that we were still able to keep the bedrooms cool enough at night. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms, plus there was also a pedestal fan available in the unit.
The property facilities at Boulevard Towers are fantastic. The renovated BBQ area is great, and we definitely made good use of it. The pool, spa, and surrounding gardens are all well-maintained and very impressive.
The location of the building simply can't be beaten. It is directly opposite the beach, which is perfect for us, given we have 2 young children. The idea of having to drag 2 kids with buckets and spades further than across the road to get to the beach isn't exactly appealing, and is one of the reasons why we continue to stay here. It is also a short 5 minute walk to the Oasis Shopping Centre, the multiple dining options in Broadbeach, and the fantastic playgrounds and parkland at Pratten park.More
