“Marvelous hotel with reasonable rate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Much nicer hotel room compared to the budget first world and theme park hotel. The design of the room is nice, cosy with nice lighting effect. Very clean. The bathroom is designed nicely with the hidden closet and reachable from the inside of the bathroom.
Redeemed Genting points for my stay. During non peak season or shoulder season, maybe 15 points? or 20+ points. Overall , worth it. The room rate, not too sure. Can check at their website.
Near to Circus Place casino and montecarlo casino. All are linked. Can easily walk to First world, and to star casino.

“Enjoyable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

We visited genting because of its theme park. This is a huge hotel, plenty of rooms and great view of Kulalampur Petronas tower and hill of genting highlands.

We enjoyed the stay. Buffet food was nice and good Indian food was served. Theme parks are just attached to it.

For Children theme park indoor and out door both are nice to enjoy. Great roads are made and also ropeway to reach here.

Hotel has nice rooms, lifts, interior, latest ameneties for a perfect family holiday.

Enjoyed the stay

“Marvelous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Stayed here for a day with my family and found the place to be too good. Carry your map with you since it is a very huge area and you might easily get lost. The place is well maintained despite the huge inflow of people. Food in the restaurant is awesome but they should have separated one counter from the other since I being a vegan could not tolerate the smell of meat. There are different shows at different timings hence take our own time in exploring the place.

“Good otion for stay when visiting theme park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2011

Enjoying the theme park at Genting in its entirety takes more than 1 full day, especially given the variable weather. Our family therefore stays for 3 nights to give us 2 full days in the park. The hotel rooms(after refurbishment) are adequate, the foot palatable though not by any means outstanding (refering to the buffet breakfast) service acceptable, though you can expect check in delays of as long as an hour in peak season. Location is wonderful and dining options within the indoor theme park varied.

Room Tip: can be quite chilly for what is actually a tropical nation :)

“Total Confusion”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

As this hotel rated well on Trip Adviser but isn't available for internet booking, I phoned the hotel directly and was pleased at the rate we got when I booked using my World Card. However, when we got there, they claimed they didn't have a booking for us. They then found that we were booked at the lower standard First World Hotel which definitely wasn't what we had booked. After over an hour trying to sort things out, they offered to "upgrade" us to the Resort Hotel but the extra price they wanted took the price up to the full quoted price. After demanding to see the Manager, they agreed to give us a discount but we still had to pay extra.

Getting there was also a hassle. The Genting Resort's own bus goes from the Puduraya Terminal in KL. It's no fault of Genting but the new layout of Puduraya is, in my professional opinion of 40 years as a traffic engineer, appalling. We had been told that we would be able to get straight on one of the half hourly buses as it was midweek but we weren't able to get on the bus that was shown as leaving twenty minutes after we arrived. We weren't able to find out whether that bus actually existed as their computer system was down and they only offered us the next one. We thus spent nearly an hour at the terminal. When we got to the transfer point to get on the Genting cable car, we had to join the long queue which took twenty minutes to get through. Surely hotel guests should be able to go in the priority lane?

The room and facilities were ordinary for a four star hotel. Although the rooms don't have (or need) air conditioning, our room was above the main air conditioning for the public areas which was very noisy as was the road outside with its steep slope.

When we left, we just wanted a small breakfast not a full buffet. That was only available miles away at junk food places or, supposedly, the Coffee Bean in the hotel lobby. However, that was about twenty minutes late opening.

Room Tip: Not overlooking the main access road.
