“Buri Rasa, Great Staff, Great place to stay at in Chaweng”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2012

I managed to book a Deluxe premium room at Buri Rasa through agoda, almost last minute and got a good discount. Having called earlier to inform them of our honeymoon trip, we discovered our bed decorated with flowers, swan shaped towels and a greeting made with sticks. Beautiful as it was, it meant more brownie points for me :). Our room was great; it was clean, well-sized and had its own balcony and comfortable seating. Only concern was the bed was a bit soft which may cause problems for those with weak backs.

The hotel has a cozy feel all over, and the ambience with koi ponds, trees, wood work and the clay pots and wooden ladle for washing feet post beach trip allow one to forget the otherwise busy Chaweng beach area and become more a part of tropical Thailand.
Buri Rasa has direct access to the beach, and the sand around the hotel is kept clean. The hotel’s restaurant and infinity pool (decent sized) is also right next to the beach so one can dine and swim with a view.

The highlight of the hotel, however, is its staff that is very friendly and helpful. Specially Chart, with his beaming smile and ability to remember the names of every guest. The management also leaves a note in the room every night with small Thai treats for the guests to enjoy at night which is nice touch for tired guests at the end of the day.
The breakfast buffet at the hotel is delicious, with a lot of choices and options for all kinds of guests, and there is a separate a la carte menu from which one can order eggs, pancakes etc. (included in breakfast package).

Other facilities include free wi-fi, guests parking area, mini lobby with a library of books and videos available for guests to borrow. The room was also equipped with all the facilities mentioned on the website and the turndown service was excellent.

One thing to note is that Chaweng is the busiest beach, hence staying at the beach means fire crackers go off through-out the night (we went in early January). However, this never disturbed our sleep and it is easier to find activities, food (specially halal food) and shopping on Chaweng than anywhere else.

Room Tip: Pre-book online for a good deal. Try to stay in the centre of the hotel away from the street and the...

“enjoyed it very much”

Good location, right on the beach very pleasant to make long walks, good breakfast, tasty food and very good staff. The rooms are comfortable but very basic and simple and they have a littly balcony.I think its worth staying here if you like small boutique resorts and the hotel prices are very reasonable both for accomadation and food.

“Another Great Stay!”

The Buri Rasa is the best! We returned for our 3rd straight year for 8 nights and as usual had a fantastic time. I can’t say enough about the staff, they are great, in particular Mr. Chart and Mr. Arn. I have been traveling to Thailand for 30 years now and they rank as the best I have experienced.
The service, rooms, food and spa were all great. See you all next year!

“Overall good experience!”

We were a group of 17 adults & 1 infant. We stayed at Buri Rasa for 3 nights. This was our 2nd trio to Buri Rasa in 13 months.

Plus Points:
Location is very good with chaweng road being on one side & the beach on the other side.
staff are helpful & co-operative. Special mention for Mr Micheal (on duty manager).
rooms are tidy & gives a very nice thai feel.
breakfast & food at the restaurant is very good.
Lot of emails were exchanged as we had to make a reservation for a large group. Always recd. prompt replies.

Minus Points
Mosquitoes can be an issue. Infact the day we were checking the hotel had planned a pest control.
The hotel was full hence breakfast can get extremely busy. Sometimes we had to repeat our breakast orders twice or thrice.
Our hotel transfers were arranged by the hotel. 2 large vans were sent to receive us which were not enough as we had a lot of luggage. I had informed the hotel that we would be carrying a lot of luggage. Hence it got really tight even though the hotel is only a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Room Tip: Opt for a room which is not to close to Chawen road to avoid a peacful sleep at night.
