I chose this 4 star hotel for 2 nights stay as it was dubbed as the best Hotel in the city. I was kind of disappointed as it below my expectation. The hotel itself is quite old, previously called Dynasty Hotel. Rooms were not clean, aged furniture, it definitely needs renovation. It was a bit difficult to reach the location but thankfully I had a reliable GPS that showed the way. The road was blocked for maintenance so need to take alternative route.
The breakfasts were not impressive, below standard of even 3-star hotel restaurant, one or two flies roam freely, tables were dirty. We spent sometime swimming in the pool, but a lot of the tiles on the bottom of pool were damaged, so need to be extra careful.
The positive aspects about the hotel: the staffs are all helpful, nice and friendly. Parking lots are spacey and they cleaned cars very early in the morning proactively. The rooms equipped with big LCD TV with satellite channels.
I think the Hotel has had its glory days in the past but fading quickly. At the same time, they need to balance between cost and income, as Purwokerto is not a real major city who can attract lots of tourists like Bandung, Bali, Jogja etc. If they want to survive, please renovate and significantly improve the restaurant.
I would still consider staying in this Hotel again, as there's not much option in the city, except a nice one called Atrium Hotel, but its location is a big turn off.
