This rural hotel should more properly called a B&B. It consists of several 2-story buildings tucked away in the countryside, about 2 kilometers outside the small town of Icod del Alto. Without a car the hotel would not be accessible except via an arduous walk up steep hills. We had rented a superior room with our own terrace; however, once we saw that the "terrace" was simply a very small walled-in area outside the room and facing the parking lot we changed to a regular room on the second floor. The views of the ocean are wonderful but rooms with this view face North, which would be preferable in summer but cooler in winter. There is a very spacious terrace adjacent to the administrative building that more than makes up for not having one's private outside sitting area, as it is much nicer. Rooms facing El Teide are not as nice, as the view of the mountain is obstructed by high stone walls as well as multiple electricity lines. Finally, the hotel is simply too expensive for what is offered - a comfy bed and a very modest breakfast. Dinners have to be ordered and are also overpriced at 20 Euros.
