a we booked this hotel because of its nearness to tenerife norte airport. What a disaster. After an excellent stay in costa adeje we drove across the national parkland and mount teide to be impressed by the quiet majesty of the volcanic landscape. We expected from the description of the hotel location to find ourselves in a similar environment "views of Mount Teide" but after a very difficult ,mountainous route we arrived at the 4 star "finca" More like no star.no place, no personnel - just one g i rl who waited at reception, who took orders for "dinner",who served meals, who dealt with dissatisfied clients. The hotel room, while newly restored and well furnished, smelt strongly of must. There was no window in the room and we could not leave open the door to "DEMUST" the room. The dinner ,with its 4 star price, was a set menu - no choice,at all. It was extremely bad value for money and definitely not "canarian cuisine" as advertised. Worst of all our flight was quite early and as we had to leave the hotel ar around 8 a.m. we enquired about breakfast. Oh, that would be a problem - no personnel around at this time. So we had brought to our room at 11p.m. a tray with a a vacuum flask of coffee and milk, a plastic container of cornflakes - no bowls nor spoons, and a wrapped rye bread. It was totally inedible because by morning the coffee was stone cold and there was no way we could eat the cornflakes. So all in all, a very fusty room, a very poor dinner, no breakfast and a long wait while "the girl" attempted to operate a faulty credit card machine.
