Hotel des Alpes is a very special place. I stayed there with my husband and teenage children. This was our second visit. It is a small, quiet, family-run hotel, ideal for families. The rooms are small but spotless, the location is great, the staff are superb, and the food is just amazing. The owners Fausta and Franco are so friendly and welcoming - it is like a home from home. We all loved it!

I travelled recently with 31 others to Foppolo on a skiing trip. Our journey to the hotel was delayed at Moio de Calvi due to a small rock-fall.We were very pleasantly surprised when we were escorted to a nearby bar as guests of the local mayor who picked up the tab for all of our drinks.The people of Lombardy could give the Irish tourism industry a big run for their money as regards a cead mile failte.When the rock-fall was cleared we carried on to the hotel where we were met with a very warm greeting by Fausta and Gianfranco. Fausta is an absolute treasure. She has a great sense of humour which anyone would need when dealing with a group of Mad Irish.She had a welcome drink and snacks ready for us. She had already made contact with one of the local ski-hire shops in order to streamlime our gear rental and she arranged a little discount for us on the ski passes. She printed our menus in english for us each evening and ensured that the menus were appropriate for one of our group who is allergic to nuts.
The food in the hotel is excellent. The breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice.
The evening meal has a choice of at least 4 different starters and main courses.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and al of the hotel staff are friendly and genuinely interested in ensuring that you the customer enjoy your stay. Those of our group who used the local swimming-pool were able to take the hotel's towels with them. Michael O'Leary does not promote the carriage of bulky towels from Ireland so this was very convenient.
As we travelled outside of the peak season we received a very good rate from Fausta for our stay and I would definitely regard it as very good value.A testament to the quality of our stay is the fact that every member of our group is talking already of returning to hotel des Alpes next year.

The hotel is very clean and well kept. The visit was made special by the hospitality of Fausta and Gian Franco who made us feel very welcome and took care of all our needs. It is great to stay at a place like this.

Family-run hotel, brilliant food and great service! Definitely recommendable - A 2 hour bus ride from Bergamo along a spectacularly beautiful route.
