Kiawah Island is considered to be one of the top golf holiday resorts in the United States of America. As such, there is a variety of top-class championship golf courses at Kiawah Island for golf fans. Among the more notable of these is the Ocean Course which provides great views of the Atlantic ocean, and hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup. There are also other good golf courses at Kiawah Island such as the Nicklaus designed Turtle Point Golf Course, and Cougar Point Golf Course. However, Kiawah Island is not all about golf and has about 10 miles of beach along its coast. Among some of the best of these is the public Beachwalker County Park, which is a great nature beach. Kiawah Island also has a number of resort villas just a short distance away from the golf courses and beaches.
