Airline Summary

Azul (IATA: AD; ICAO: AZU) is “Brazil’s largest international airline by number of cities served.” Azul will carry you to more than 100 destinations in Brazil, several South American countries, Portugal, and the United States. Codeshare agreements with airlines such as TAP Air Portugal and United expand its reach throughout the world. Its modern fleet includes A320neo, A330, ATR 72, E190, and E195 aircraft. All aircraft, except the short-haul turboprops, feature seat back entertainment monitors. Features on aircraft used for long-haul flights include Economy Extra (seats with additional legroom), Skysofa (a group of four seats in Economy Class that may be turned into a “spacious couch for families, couples, and friends to travel together”), and seats that transform into fully lie-flat beds in Business Class. DON'T FLIGHT AZUL

Probably one of the worst experience with azul airlines They changed my flight in 3 occasions with not even considering my schedule and other flight conection and hotel reservation. Paid extra for seats and when they changed my flight me and my family got moved all the way to the back of the plane in separate seats. Changed the whole itinerary of my trip. Lost more then $1000 dollars in reschedule flight, hotel and car rental. All they did was give me a $ 100 Reais Voucher to use with then.

The worst service ever, this airline does not care for tourists and the people at the gate are animals. They dont put the gate number on flights and when you get confused they tell you you need to learn portuguese.

Dreadful communication
Manaus - Sao PauloDomestic
Flew Manaus to Belo Horizonte and on to Sao Paulo intending to arrive with four hours plus to make my international connection. First flight was delayed so arrived with one hour 20 mins to spare. Suitcase didn't arrive so I completed a form and made my international flight with seconds to spare. I've since had a whatsapp with a photo of my suitcase saying they will send it via Air France and Iwill have to collect it from the airport. Technically they should return it to my home but I'm prepared to do that if I must. However no-one is now replying to tell me if this has been done or where my suitcase is. Air France have no information which is dreadful considering they are the carriers - none of the customer service numbers or emails for Azul work and the chat bot is utterly useless. Other people in our group had problems checking in - had to go directly to the airport to be reassured they had seats. This airline really needs to improve its communications! I'd say avoid.. I flew with Latham on another internal trip and they were great.

Avoid at all costs
Salvador - Porto SeguroDomestic
We bought a flight from Salvador to Porto seguro for 600 euros. We are doing a one month tour in Brazil . It was supposed to be 2 hours flight with 40 Minutes change of plane . We strayed at 8:30 am to discover they’ve changed the flight to 11:30 . So we missed our connection and ended up waiting six hours, then when we finally boarded our next flight they told us to empty the plane as the flight is cancelled for technical issues . They announce nothing in English, and when you ask what can we do as we have taxi , hotel reservations extra plus we are travelling with a three year old . They say we don’t know and nothing is clear… I am writing this as I am still at the airport waiting

Bad customer service

So we arrived at airport at 3 am for our 4am flight from sao luiz and had noticed we were already checked in though we had not checked in , so we went and dropped bags off and our flight was at 4:45am so we were meant to have 2 flights and arriving in maceio at 8:50am upon going to catch our original flight they have said we have to catch different flight and our 4 hour transfer to maceio ended up being arriving 7pm this was terrible as we had things booked that day in maceio we tried to talk to someone but lack of English and communication meant we just had to catch this flight, not to mention my girlfriend is pregnant which she was not happy about a 7 hour stopover in Recife to catch a 40 minute flight to maceio the customer service of this airline was terrible will not be recommending to my friends due to no information being told to us about our flights being changed
