This airline sucks. There’s almost always a delay with the flights. Currently looking at a 1 hour delay because of a “broken seat in the plane” which is insane and I’ll probably be missing my connecting flight. Great

This is in regards to using points to book a hotel in North Carolina. This site limited me to choosing an out of country departure location. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I booked a hotel reservation 6 months in advance. I arrived at the address stated in the reservation on the date specified. I could not find the hotel listed on the reservation. The building in its place looked like it was condemned and ready to be demolished. The parking lot was empty except for some grocery carts and industrial dumpsters. It didn’t look safe and I was a female traveling alone. There didn’t appear to be a single guest. The only thing I could see in the building were translucent tarps over most of the windows. It looked like something from a murder mystery. I was receiving reminder emails up to the day of check in but never received any notice that the hotel was under a different name or that there was any construction or that the building was no longer habitable. I conveyed all this to AAdvantage reservations and they said they were concerned that it was not safe but that they could not refund my money unless the hotel agreed to it. Then I called every day and they supposedly called the hotel every day for a week until they could actually find someone to pick up the phone at that location. I provided video of the property showing that it did not match my reservation. It showed the condition of the location. I mentioned that it should prove it is not an active property if no one is answering the several times of day that they are calling. Nevertheless, their customer has no voice and the retailer is always right. They even told me that if they NEVER received a response, I would not receive a refund because the retailer has to explicitly state in writing that they are granting a refund. Absolutely worst ‘customer service’ I’ve ever experienced.

My flight was scheduled to depart at 5:30 AM on Tuesday morning. However, after the plane took off, it had to make an unexpected and alarming landing almost immediately. The pilot informed us that the plane had been under maintenance all day prior and that the issues were still unresolved. The captain announced a malfunction in one of the engines and assured us that the aircraft was unfit for travel that day. We spent about 30 to 45 minutes taxiing before heading back to the gate. Once we returned to the terminal, I faced a wait of over two hours just to speak with the gate staff, who were quite rude and openly complained about their overtime situation, suggesting that if they left, we would be out of luck. While I appreciated that the two ladies on duty were trying hard to assist with rearranging passengers' itineraries, which must have been stressful for them, it was inconsiderate for them to vent about their frustrations in front of customers who were already inconvenienced and had paid for their travel. This delay extended over ten hours. After waiting for more than two hours, I finally reached someone. A new employee who had just clocked in greeted me with an unprecedented level of disrespect. He explicitly stated he was unaware of the situation and treated me poorly for no apparent reason. I mentioned my two-hour wait and acknowledged that this was a stressful time for both the passengers and the staff. I witnessed some passengers receiving food and hotel vouchers while others, including myself, got nothing. No compensation was offered for such a significant delay. On my return flight with United Airlines, I encountered a similar delay due to maintenance. However, their customer service far surpassed that of American Airlines, with friendly staff who showed compassion and efficiently located a new aircraft within an hour, providing detailed updates that American Airlines failed to offer. Not only did I lose a day of my vacation, but I also incurred unexpected expenses for meals at the airport. I don't think I'll ever fly with American Airlines again, not only because of the lengthy delay but also due to the exceptionally poor customer service I experienced.

I will never fly AA again after being loyal for ten years. Flight was delayed due to “not having enough fuel” arrive at layover and get to my gate ten minutes before departure to have the gate closed. Sat in line for 2 hours with extremely rude service reps who refused to get a supervisor. Finally get rebooked for the following day but was told the reason for the delay changed to air traffic control issues and no hotel vouchers will be provided (half my flight already had vouchers given) Complete disregard for the customer and lost a Loyal member. Also canceling my world elite American advantage card.
