About Southwest Airlines
Headquarters: PO Box 36647-1CR, Dallas, TX 75235

Airline Summary

Dallas-based Southwest Airlines (IATA: WN; ICAO: SWA) is the world's largest low-cost carrier. Southwest operates non-stop flights to more than 100 destinations across 10 countries. Unlike many major airlines, Southwest does not use hubs, but rather a point-to-point system. About 15 airports with a significant amount of WN flights have been designated as focus cities. The airline's fleet is configured with just an Economy Class cabin. In contrast to many low-cost carriers, Southwest does not charge a fee for up to two checked bags; non-alcoholic drinks and pretzels or peanuts are also free on board. Early boarding access, automatic online check-in and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

Captain made announcement while boarding that they will cancel snack, beverage and any kind of service before the flight even took off the ground over the intercom. This is getting ridiculous as I’ve been on several SW flights this month when the pilot said the same thing, got airborne, and there was NO weather, but still NO Southwest service. You can hide behind moral gaslamping like “safety” but with the trend it’s actually called “laziness”. There’s been no dangerous situations and your passengers know that and experience that, do you think your passengers are stupid? Captain came out of hiding in the cockpit pit and made an announcement before take off regarding the what I described above, and it was complete misinformation. As I described above we didn’t experience a single dump of turbulence for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Before taking off they tried to load additional passengers, the flight crew had no idea what to do with the passengers, their bags, or how to seat like parties together. This delayed the 160+ human beings and the plane itself. The worst part is the passengers they tired to load included a SW pilot. SW delays flights for its own benefit moving pilots around. I walked up to the restroom as we sat at the air bridge so long, the pilot and flight attendants were laughing saying “these people will deal with it, we leave when we leave.” A tall, white gate attendant came on board before we pushed back, he said “we did it, we got 172 plus 1 plus 1, these people will be fine, don’t worry about them”. They had no idea I heard it as I was sitting toward the front of the plane, but it was clear as day. “Arm doors and cross check” call over the speakers was 5:02pm PST. Your app showed we departed at “5:03pm”, and the wheels of the plane were actually off the ground at 5:21pn PST. No bumps after 532pm… I tire of reporting things to the SW channels so I won’t. I will start posting to as many social media platforms as much as possible because reporting to SW does sum-zero-nothing.

Extremely Disappointed with Southwest Airlines Service I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received from Southwest Airlines on 6/14/24 . My experience has left me feeling incredibly frustrated and inconvenienced. I began my journey in Cleveland with a connecting flight scheduled to Omaha, Nebraska via Chicago. My initial flight arrived in Chicago at 1:30 PM, and my connecting flight, Flight #369 to Omaha, was scheduled for 4:25 PM. Upon arrival in Chicago, I was informed by a Southwest Airlines worker that I had been placed on standby for Flight #369, despite my explicit instructions not to do so. I emphasized the urgency of my travel as I had an event to attend in Omaha at 8:00 PM. Unfortunately, due to Southwest's decision to place me on standby against my wishes, I was bumped to the next available flight, resulting in an extended wait time of over 5 hours at Chicago O'Hare Airport. Flight counter worker doesn’t seem has no control of the situation. I do not understand how the system works. This level of service is not only irresponsible but also completely unacceptable. I never anticipated that Southwest Airlines would treat its customers like this. I will make sure me, my family and my relatives, will never use southwest flights again.

Soaking wet bags and no bathroom access? Southwest, you can do better than this! We normally avoid flying with Southwest Airlines, however, we had six additional family members flying on the same flight so we bit the bullet on this one. Our first complaint is that over the coarse of this 4 hour flight they never turned off the ‘fasten seat belt’ sign, although we had hour long stretches of perfectly smooth flight. Often the flight attendants would ask the people who had to use the restroom to remain seated because the ‘fasten seat belt’ sign was on. Meanwhile the flight attendants were up and about for all but two 15 minute stretches. Our second and much more significant issue was the fact the at when we got our luggage, it was completely soaked with rain water. One bag was so bad, every garment within the bag was soaked. Our question is, why can’t they transport the luggage from the plane to the baggage carousel under cover? All of the mail and parcel carriers have figured it out, I have never received a package from Amazon that was soaking wet. Figure it out Southwest Airlines and Tampa Bay Airport!

Was told by the gate attendant that the flight was delayed 25 minutes, from 12:30 to 12:55. Came back 25 minutes later to find out they had already boarded and did not announce they changed the flight back to 12:30. I was, quite literally, deliberately lied to and missed my flight because of it.
