I have been a loyal WestJet customer for years, but after this recent experience, I am thoroughly disappointed and will reconsider EVER flying with them again.
It all started when my flight was cancelled due to crew issues, which is already frustrating enough. I ended up waiting for 1.5 days just to get rebooked.
During that time, I spent hours upon hours on the phone with customer service, only to be passed around repeatedly and given inconsistent answers each time. Some representatives were outright rude, which made the situation even worse.
To make matters worse, I lost a hotel reservation because of the delay, but when I asked WestJet to cover the cost, they refused, even though it was booked through WestJet Vacations. As a result, I had to pay out of pocket to extend my trip due to the time I lost waiting. Their response? I can “apply to appeal it” once I get back.
This entire experience completely ruined half of my holiday with my daughter. WestJet used to be my go-to airline, but after this ordeal, I can no longer trust them to provide the level of service I expect. I am beyond frustrated and honestly feel like a valued customer is no longer a priority for them. Horribly disappointed.
I hope this review helps others understand the reality of flying with WestJet now. I certainly won’t be flying with them again any time soon.
