About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Melissa M0 contributionsBest tour in BoholOur driver JR was informative and friendly. We arrived at the tarsier sanctuary before it opened, but were allowed in anyway. They are so cute and small! Then we went to the chocolate farm, which was incredibly interesting and informative, and we even got to make our own chocolate (and taste the beans at every stage, from raw fruit to hot chocolate and a tea made from the husks of the beans). Our final so should have been the chocolate hills, but our driver was willing to be flexible and made an additional stop for us. This was one of the best tours we've taken in the Philippines.Written 27 June 2024
- Michelle M0 contributionsBest land tour in BoholThis was a fantastic tour. Very well organized and felt very well thought out. I'm so glad they brought us to the actual tarsier sanctuary which is more out of the way but totally worth it! The chocolate making experience was super educational and very interesting. Our driver/guide JR was very willing to share information with us as we went around the island. He was even flexible with us and let us add on an extra stop. This was one of our favorite tours we went on in the PhilippinesWritten 27 June 2024
- ralucaantoniav0 contributionsWe loved the ultimate tour by EcotravelersWe chose the private ultimate tour because of the uniqueness of the places & activities and we didn't regret it. The driver was very open, friendly, sharing infos about their culture, which we really enjoyed. At every place we had our own guide😊 we liked the most the Alicia Panoramic Park trekking for the amazing views, but honestly, whole day was just perfect! We definitely recommend it for an unforgettable day in Bohol😍Written 2 May 2024
- 789anyav0 contributionsWindy but beautiful island hopping tripVery good but windy trip. Saw dolphines on the way. Saw a sea turtle while snorkling and many little clown fish. A bit of stings from the gobbles in the water. Jessie, our guide, gave a good tour of the island. Skipped the virgin islands as it was too crowded and saw Isla Tomasa instead. The island hopping from Bohol has many tourists, so it is busy and crowded no matter what. But still a must-do recommendation.Written 8 April 2024
- Jenny W0 contributionsLovely day out on Bohol!I had a great time on this tour! The guide at the farm was very knowledgeable about growing cacao and how it's made into chocolate. And my guide for the full day, Fronie, was happy to answer my questions about the Chocolate Hills, the Tarsier Conservatory, and life in Bohol in general. I definitely recommend this trip for chocolate lovers and those looking to experience the nature of the island.Written 27 March 2024
- Simone A0 contributionsBook this wonderful tripThis trip was the highlight so far! We saw so many dolphins swimming beside the boat and jumping out of the water it was incredible. We both loved the island visit, we saw barely any tourists and was lovely to see that Ecotravelers gives back to the island which is wonderful. Lovely to meet the locals and the young children at nursery who all waved and said hello. Jessie was amazing he answered all our questions and was very knowledgable. Thank you. We snorkelled and saw turtles which again was truly amazing. Lunch was a banquet for two. This private tour was amazing. We booked purely on the reviews on here and booked direct. A trip not to be missed when visiting BoholWritten 18 January 2024
- G9373HJpaull0 contributionsHonest and reliable peopleWe were suppose te go to Cebu by boat , the crossing was cancelled because a TYPHOON was coming. all the travellers were in a panick. We had to be in Cebu the next day , our flight to go back to Canada was leaving the next day. Flights were cancelled left and right , the agency went really out of their way to find a way for us to get to Cebu. The agency was close that day , they reopened for us and they came out with a fair price . In conclusion , we were in trouble , they gave us a fantastic service .Written 18 January 2024
- maginess0 contributionsMUST DO WHEN IN BOHOL!This excursion was fantastic. We were picked up on time, saw the dolphins, had a lovely and educational walk around the island, went snorkelling to see amazing fish, coral and a few turtles and finally had a lovely and well prepared lunch on board. On the way back we visited Virgin Island which is a lovely sandbank out in the ocean and was very nice to walk around in the shallow and crystal clear waters. Our guide Fronie was incredible. Very easy going, knowledgeable about local culture and super helpful with our 3 year old daughter. There was a lot of carrying required for the wee one and we got so much help from Fronie from carrying the wee one to helping with the bag and snorkelling equipment. We can’t recommend Fronie and this excursion highly enoughWritten 11 January 2024
- N9044NZmaryk0 contributionsHighlight of our trip to the Phillipines!Must do in bohol - our favorite tour by far including coron & el Nido! We saw dolphins which were incredible at sun rise & swam with two big turtles - surreal! I requested a couple of things like visiting the local school and the tour operator arranged everything. Jessie is super personable & knowledgeable so you get a glimpse into authentic php culture. I loved the school, the kids were so cute & friendly. The food was the best tour food we had all trip. Definitely book this tour - island hopping - and ecotraveler who shy away from all the usual tourist spots and focus on sustainable practice. Thank you!Written 5 January 2024
- U6706ULmartino0 contributionsFantoosh McGooshReally great tour. Jessie our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on the Philippines history and current day affairs. Lunch was great and he made sure we got snorkelling in quiet location.Written 27 December 2023
- RandB18050 contributionsA must do in Bohol... make sure you get Jesse as your guide.Excellent way to spend the day. Being in the Philippines you almost always get good service from all the people here. But Jesse was next level. His attention to customers and servicabiltiy towards your every need was out standing. With out even asking most of the time he picked the type of people we were and made sure we had little distractions from other tourists from where swam, dived and even organised getting our food on the boat so we can eat alone.Written 21 December 2023
- Miltonjohns0 contributionsBook book book. Simply fantasticBook Book Book. Don’t look anywhere else. We had a fantastic day with our own private tour. I can highly recommend this tour & the operators EcoTravellers. A simple booking process that was seamless & the excellent communication letting us know exactly what we were doing. Pick up was from the hotel. They will pick you up wherever you are staying. We were met by Jessie, who has to be the best guide I have ever had in all my travels. Very friendly, super knowledgeable about his tour & entertained us all day adding in little extras that were not in the brochure such as an additional island!! We saw dolphins, swam in the sea off Balicasag Island, had a village tour which was great to see how the islanders live. Snorkelling where we saw the turtles as well. Lunch was fantastic. So tasty & plenty of it. On to Virgin Island & a relax there in the sea. Was super to see this little strip of sand in the middle of the sea. We had plenty of time to do as we wished. There was no rushing at all & we had an amazing day. Have already booked more tours with this company. Highly recommended. Thanks To Novie & Jesse & the team at Eco travellersWritten 18 October 2023
- WorldDiveD0 contributionsA must do in Bohol.A lovely sunrise spot. You will have to get there at 4am to be on time for the sunrise. The hike is easy, it's about an hour walking distance. Although doable without close shoes (the guides do it with flipflops) I would not recommend it can be slippery. It's located about an hour ride with a scooter. I would definitely advise to go there the day before and book a guide as you may not find the start of the trail otherwise. The guide is 300 PHP, add to this 30php environmental fee per person. Once you reach the summit of the hill, you will enjoy a picturesque scenery with a gorgeous sunrise. If you are lucky you will see the "sea of clouds". Perfect for photos and drones.Written 15 October 2023
- WorldDiveD0 contributionsWaterfall an hour from AndaA nice and fairly big waterfall where you can swim and refresh yourself. Just rent a scooter and get there, it's easy to find.Written 15 October 2023
- Trina J0 contributionsGreat day out, very flexible itineraryWe were lucky enough to have Jessie as a guide who was always punctual (to the minute!), full of interesting information and very accommodating to our requests. Jessie is obviously a very talented guide, he knows what he is doing, and planned our trip around avoiding the throngs of other tourists. Which meant that we had a very pleasant snorkeling experience and a beautiful lunch served on the boat. The walk through the village on Balicasag island was an absolute highlight , the kids at the local school sang us a song which was absolutely beautiful! I only wish that we had taken some school supplies with us to hand out. If anyone reads this please take some! They are all super happy with very little but it would have been nice to gift them a few pencils or books etc. I would definitely recommend any tour with Ecotravelers. Don’t book an island hopping tour with one of the hawkers on the beach, this was much more pleasant than a jam packed boat with and very reasonably priced too. The snorkeling was brilliant, beautiful turtles and fish. Very warm water although there was a strong current as the tide was changing which could be dangerous for weak swimmers. I would just suggest in future that Eco travelers maybe try to use non plastic utensils for lunch - it would be much more eco friendly to have reusable utensils. There was loads of rubbish on balicasag island, many tourists even dumped their lunch rubbish including knives forks and drink containers on the beach and left. I know that Jessie wouldn’t have done that with ours but anything we can do to reduce waste would be a better experience. I’d also probably prefer not to feed the fish crackers, as it’s not their natural food and they’d already been given loads by other snorkelers. I think those two things would make it even more eco aware and friendly.Written 7 July 2023

We stayed in Anda and found that most of the trips seems to originate in Panglao but Eco Travelers hub were happy to accommodate us for a small extra fee. They were also able to work the trip so we were dropped of at the end to catch an onward ferry which worked really well. Essentially we did the trip in reverse but that was great as we alwaysisswd all if the crowds. Jessie, along with our driver, picked us up right on time from our hotel, bright and cheerful from the get go.
We picked this trip because the standard offerings included stops we didn't really like the sound of but still included the must sees of Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers, Pangas falls (which we had to ourselves)
Nature reserve to feed the monkeys( we were first visitors of the day) Made mahogany forest and local market.
Jessie was chatty, friendly and treated to the best hot chocolate I've ever had.
A great trip, very accommodating to all our needs.

My wife and I went on the Bohol nature tour today and it was one of the highlights of our trip to the Philippines!
We chose this tour because the itinerary, while including expected locations like the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Sanctuary, included some interesting places which we didn’t see in other tours, like a public market and the Pangas waterfalls.
The tour was even better than we expected, thanks in great part to our wonderful guide Jessie who introduced us to different aspects of life in Bohol throughout the trip. He even brought us to some surprise locations, like the workshop of a blacksmith who recycles metal from cars to create machetes.
Special thanks also to our driver Jr, who drove us safely some very muddy roads on this rainy day.
We would be happy to take another tour with Ecotravel on our next visit to the Philippines! Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about life in Bohol with an expert guide in addition to visiting different scenic locations.

We loved our experience. As well as the main three attractions, there were a number of other experiences fitted in to the itinerary, including breakfast in and a tour around markets, a visit to a colonial era cathedral, and a visit to the cultural centre. We were not on the main tourist route, so it was not crowded. Jessie the guide was great, and informative and answered all our random questions- felt like we learned a lot about Bohol today! And we were 100% in good hands with the driver. Highly recommend!

We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience the main attractions of Bohol. Fronie was a very knowledgeable and nice guide and explained us a lot of additonal facts about the Bohol and Filipino culture. While visiting the chocolate hills, he offers you to go to a less crowded spot (we were actually on our own) instead of the one filled with tourists.
Included in the tour is a breakfast in the local market and lunch on the Loboc River boat.
Great experience all in all!

We had a wonderful time with Ecotravelers and especially Jessie. We booked our three private tours with them and they did not disappoint.
On our Nature Tour we felt privileged as we went to uncrowded access of the chocolate hills, even though it was a muddy path, it was worth the effort. Spectacular view for just ourselves.
Same story for the Tarsier sanctum which we visited a smaller location with few people, very nice and private.
Then the cruise and lunch on Loboc River was fantastic. The food was plenty and delicious, and the singer was friend with our guide so we spent some good time.
We chose the private tour, and Jessie made sure we were always comfortable, provided soft drinks, water and even fresh coconut. He made us feel like we had a friend in the Philippines, we earned each others trust very quickly.
Highly recommended. Make sure to ask for Jessie.

My husband and I did the tour with guide, Ronie. He was great! Full of information and took very good care of us! The market was a lovely start to the day! We got to try sticky rice and hot chocolate that the locals eat and drink. We got to see what kind of food the locals sell and get an idea of how they live.
The tarsier sanctuary was my favorite part bc I am an animal lover. It was very short but they are adorable little animals and we got some nice pictures.
Ronie also stopped at a locals house where they make wine from coconuts and showed us how they hull rice. We got to do a little wine tasting.
The chocolate hills, he took us to a hill where there weren't a lot of people so we got some nice pics.
Lastly was the river cruise. Wasn't sure what to expect but it was really nice! Food was good! The river is really pretty and it was a nice way to end the trip.
I recommend bringing peso's with you. When we got to the ferry, we each had to pay 25 peso for something to get through and then 30 each on the way back. Also, bring a cell phone charger. Our ferry on the way back got delayed an hr. I felt really bad bc the man picking us up did not know it was delayed and waited over an hour for us.
Overall, great experience!

We had the most wonderful day exploring Bohol with Fronie! An amazing tour which avoided all the packed spots and allowed us to soak in all the beauty of Bohol. From our pick up at our hotel to a Chocolate hills hike, local market tour (with tastings!), waterfall swim, floating cruise lunch, coconut wine tasting, and stop to see Tarsiers at the conservation center - we were taken care of and had all our questions answered by Fronie. We left having seen so much and learned so much about Bohol and the Philipines in general. We loved this tour and would highly recommend for anyone in the Panglao or Bohol area (: be sure to request Fronie and Friedi for the tour - they are simply the best!

Everything about this day was amazing! Our guide (Jessie) was kind and thoughtful, he took the time to show us all the secrets of this island and explain the culture and tradition of the philippines.
All (and there are many) the activities were well thought and of good lenght.
Overall, an amazing day we will remember!

Really enjoyable trip with our guide Fronie who took us off the beaten track - enjoyed the market and tasting of sticky rice very much. And so happy we didn't go to the same chocolate hill as all the other tourists. The river cruise also weirdly enjoyable:-)
