- Austin1hipchickk0 contributionsUnforgettable Tour of the Langa ValleyOur tour started with a view of the entire valley. Marco was able to point out all the different wineries and describe the famous grapes grown here. This intro helped me understand what makes these Italian wines unique. We visited small, organic, family owned wineries where I was able to see how the wine is harvested and the art of making a great vintage based on the crop from that year. I had no idea how many elements go into making a good wine. We also shared a delicious, piedmont style lunch in a small town on our route. And had the chance to see some stunning views of the countryside. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants an experience you will never forget.Written 14 October 2022

Marco picked us up at our hotel along with one other couple. He explained that he was an owner of a small family vineyard and winery. He became a tour guide to help the exposure of this wine region to more people. His English is excellent and very knowledgeable about the Piedmont wine region. He guided us to to 3 wineries. One large, one medium and one small. All family owned and operated. We stopped for lunch as well. We had tastings at all 3 and had the option to purchase but no pressure. It was a lovely day trip.

We signed up for this tour when visiting Alba, and we are so glad that we did!! Marco is extremely articulate, knowledgeable, and passionate about the wine in this region. We learned so much about wine making, and the specifics about the different grapes and appellations. He took us to 3 different wineries (including his family’s) and it was really such a wonderful experience. He even helped us with shipping all of our wine back home. Please book this tour if you are visiting this region, you will definitely not be disappointed!!!

I’ve never been speechless when it comes to writing reviews, but honestly it was that good! It was the best wine tour we’ve ever had, and we’ve been fortunate to do a lot of wine tours across the world! We love to check out wineries & do tours everywhere we go.
From day 1 of searching for wine tours around the Barolo/Barbaresco region, Marco at Langa Wine Tours stood out amongst everyone else. He was quick to respond (even with the time difference) and very informative. He was flexible with our requests and able to provide us with helpful suggestions. Marco kept in touch with us up to the day of the tour (even after), which is very re-assuring when booking tours months out in a country you’re unfamiliar with. I say that this is the best wine tour we’ve ever had because Marco brought a new perspective to the tour, being a winemaker himself. It’s unmatched to any other tour we’ve ever done. He was so passionate and willing to explain/show/answer all of our questions about wine (and non wine topics).
Highly, highly recommend. One of our favorite tours we did during our trip to Italy. Also, the wine was incredible!

We had a wonderful day visiting wine producers and learning about wine production with Marco. He has a wealth of experience as a wine maker and a genuine interest in sharing. The wineries were chosen to give us insight into different wine producers, from the small to very large family businesses that dominate the region.
We came away from this feeling we had learned a lot about the Piemonte wine region, it's history, how the environment and climate change is shaping and changing grape growing and wine production, We also learned a lot about the production itself. In addition we had the pleasure of meeting people involved and tasting great wine. We really recommend the tour for anyone with a beginning or developed passion for wine.

On a spontaneous summer holiday in the Piedmont region we were fortunate enough to stumble upon Marco's outstanding wine tour experience. We were picked up at our B&B and had a day filled with new knowledge about wine, beautiful view points, and great tastings at no less than three different wineries of varying sizes.
Marco himself is a winemaker which guaranteed a professional guide throughout the entire experience. His urge to explain and elaborate on every detail of the area, its history, and winemaking at large left us with an indescribable feeling of fulfillment and a good ol' value-for-money sensation at the end of the 8 hour long trip around the Piedmont region.
Not only recommendable but a must-try if you ever find yourself in the area.

We spent a total of 10 days in Italy to kick off our honeymoon. We had done other tasting days prior to our day with Marco and wow, this was one of our favorites! Marco picked us up at our Air Bnb and immediately we hit it off. His knowledge of the Barolo/Barbaresco regions was second to none from vineyards and farming to the wines themselves. My wife and I were both visiting from the Napa Valley and we both work in hospitality and this experience was definitely a highlight of our trip! His winery as well, Cascina Galina, was one of our favorites and we bought a lot of wine and are having it shipped back. If you are looking for a really fun and informative private experience, I highly recommend booking a day with Marco; you will not be disappointed! However, you may need to invest in another wine fridge or wine rack just for the wines you will be tasting with Marco! Thank you Marco for a memorable experience!

We had a fantastic experience with Marco on this tour! We especially appreciated how accommodating he was even with being the start of the busy harvest season. He explained everything very well and taught us a lot about the wines of the region. We went to 3 wineries, including his, and also had the option to stop for lunch. Highly recommend!

A very personal tour with a knowledgeable host. Everything was perfect, the views, the wines, the atmosphere and even the time schedule felt relaxed and planned out. We would recommend this wine tour to everyone who is visiting the area.

My wife and I had a wonderful day with Marco and his brother Giovanni.
They were accommodating from the start, adjusting the tour to what we wanted and also having us visit smaller wineries which was our preference. He and Giovanni were very knowledgeable about the Barolo and Barbaresco wine region, which isn't so surprising as they come from a winemaking family.
We didn't expect him to do so, but they also recommended a great local trattoria for lunch, and then drove us to our next hotel.
We couldn't recommend Marco more for anyone looking for a great day wine tasting.

Our wine tour with Marco was truly one of the highlights of our honeymoon! He took us to 3 wineries including his own and we learned so much about the Piedmont region, their wines/winemaking and Italy overall. The tour was so incredibly beautiful and informative but also so much fun! We had an awesome lunch at a local restaurant with Marco and we had the best time chatting and getting to know him more - he is a wealth of knowledge! We loved all of the wines we tried and he is kindly shipping us a bunch to enjoy at home. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you again Marco!

Would like to do this tour on Friday or Saturday, but only allows sign up for two people, and I am traveling alone. Can I sign up and just be charged for one? I am a wine educator in Oregon, and work at a winery, so very interested in this tour. Thank you, Jeff Peterson
