Must-Do Tour
I highly recommend booking this private tour of Tokyo. From the moment we booked to the time you conclude the tour, everything was perfect. Within a short time of booking the tour, I received two emails: 1) a confirmation and further information from the booking agency; and 2) a personal email from our tour guide Fuji. These immediate and personal communications were very impressive. At first I was a little skeptical that we were getting a private guided tour of Tokyo for such a reasonable price. These immediate communications told me this was the real deal. For those who are curious, this is truly a private tour. When you book, the tour is just you and anyone you personally add to it (in this case, my wife and me). We felt very special having a private tour to ourselves. Fuji, our assigned guide, asked us what we were interested in seeing and developed an itinerary from that. Pretty quickly, we were communicating via WhatsApp and we settled on a few of Fuji’s wonderful suggestions and one must-see item that we personally wanted. We visited the Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, Imperial Place Plaza, Asakusa and Sensoji Temple, had lunch at a wonderful tempura restaurant and rode the impressive subway system like a local. Fuji explained many details about the places we visited and taught us about many traditions and cultural aspects of Japan. He was kind, informative and flexible. No where can you see things in this level of detail with such comprehensive explanations. This is an amazing tour offering and we would do it again. Thank you Fuji for making our brief stay in Japan so memorable!

Thank you for spending the time with me in Tokyo and giving a nice review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it a lot. I could not introduce all of Tokyo, because the tour duration was limited. As there are many beautiful places in Tokyo / Japan showing different charms depending on seasons, I really ask you to re-visit here with more free time. Hopefully see you again!! Fuji

Excellent 6 Hour City Tour

We booked the full day tour on the second day in Tokyo to learn and see as much as possible about this fascinating City. Seky our guide met us at our hotel at 9am. Seky was excellent and brought us to many of the sites while explaining their history and cultural significance. The six hour tour was exactly what we’d hoped for and could not recommend this enough especially if you’re lucky enough to have Seky as your guide.

Tokyo tours with our guide May

Tokyo:

Japan is one of the best countries we’ve ever visited, the people are so friendly and the cities and scenery are amazing. Our guide May Takahasi made things even nicer by giving us genuine answers/information. He would go even beyond what is expected from him. He helped us when needed and was genuine in every way possible. Our private tours in Tokyo were on 2 different full days (14/03/23 + 22/03/23). He reached out to us before our tours. On both occasions, he picked us up from the hotel. We had wonderful tours in Tokyo from the range of imperial palace east garden, Tsukiji, Asakusa, park Ueno, river cruise along dinner in Tsukishima. We had a taste of some Japanese street food : chikuwa/tamagoyaki omelette, mocchi ice cream.
We also shared some Japanese traditional food such as monja-yaki, okonomi-yaki, yaki-soba noodles etc.. in Tsukishima.
May is a very knowledgeable guide about all the places we went to. A pleasure talking to him about Japanese life and many other aspects . He was great to talk to about everything and anything. His general knowledge, maturity and English fluency are just some of his assets.
We had a feeling of having a real Japanese friend as a guide.
For all these reasons, we would recommend him to anyone who wants to visit lovely spots with a very nice and friendly person.

Wonderful Tokyo personal tour guide

Hakura was simply the best tour guide we have encountered during our two-month Asia visit, which included Việt Nam and Cambodia. She speaks English like an American (she is married to one) and is extremely knowledgeable and well organized. She suggested a great one-day itinerary for us and guided my wife and me (two 70-something Chicagoans) expertly through the mysteries of Tokyo public transit. We loved every minute of her tour, especially a dining experience at a restaurant frequented by locals. We only wish we had scheduled more tour days with Haruka — she’s that good. Hiring Hakura was one of the best decisions of our trip.

Highly recommend! Our guide, Steve, met us in the morning at our hotel, and brilliantly customized our day according to everything we wanted to see! The itinerary was perfect and was flexible throughout the day, learning so much about the city, and falling in love with every stop we took. We have so many cute souvenirs and amazing memories of the day, you will not regret spending the day with your own private tour guide (who also knows an incredible amount about sake and the local places to visit! ;)

Day tour of Tokyo

My guide Nobuo Kokure was extremely knowledgeable about all of the locations visited from Imperial Palace to Temples, Shrines, markets and shopping streets. His english was excellent and he had a wonderful and welcoming demeanour. I would thouroughly recommend this tour as it can be adapted to suit your own requirements. I have visited Japan many times before but it was amazing to go to places i hadn’t seen before. I have only ever used the Yamanote line which does a giant loop of the city and had never ventured into the Metro subways but with Nobuo’s help I now feel confident to use the Metro solo. Great tour!!

Nobu-san, was a great guide, we were briefed what we were going to see and we still could change and add interesting places. At noon we went to a typical Japanese small restaurant with good food and affordable prices. Although our guidetour was foreseen for six hrs, we went over that. The trip was done with the public transport which was a good learning experience for us.

Totally Worth It!

Our tour guide, Tatsuo-san, was amazing! He met us at the train station closest to our Airbnb, helped us buy our train passes, and helped navigate the public transit system in Japan. He was super kind and patient with us. He even waited while we shopped in the stores AND held our bags. He took us to Akihabara, and patiently waited while I looked at all the anime stuff since I told him I was a big fan. He helped translate with the vendors (far and above my beginner level Japanese). He even took pictures for us (if you look closely you can see Tatsuo-san in the mirror taking the picture of us). I highly recommend starting your trip to Japan with a guided tour because it can be overwhelming for a foreigner. After our tour with Tatsuo-san we became more comfortable and confident in navigating around Japan. I highly recommend him for the private tour!!

Tokyo Full-Day Private Tour with Government-Licensed Guide

I arrived in Tokyo on Monday February 27, 2023, from the US and I took this tour the next day Tuesday February 28th. An Ando was my tour guide, and she was great! We had a very nice time touring my pre-selected spots in Tokyo. We met at 8am at my hotel and she was very friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. We reviewed my itinerary to make sure that we agreed on everything. An was so nice and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions with ease. I did not feel rushed, and we were able to see all of my spots and a couple more. It was a great way to get acclimated to a new city before I ventured out on my own. I highly recommend this tour for first time visitors to Tokyo as it's a great way to familiarize yourself with the city. An is very professional, nice, courteous and I felt comfortable with her from the moment we met. She is a great guide, and I had a wonderful time. Paul

Takashi was an amazing tour guide!
10 out of 10 would recommend. Takashi was our tour guide and he really made our trip an incredible experience. We originally had a sake tasting scheduled but it was cancelled. Thankfully so because we got so much more value in our tour with Takashi. He was very friendly and felt more like we were touring with a friend rather than a dry tour guide. Takashi took us to the Imperial Palace East Garden, Asakusa, Tsukiji, and Shibuya efficiently in one day, using trains and subways. Takashi was very knowledgeable and easy to talk with. We learned a lot about Japanese culture and history as well as the daily life of people in Japan through our interesting conversation with Takashi. We bought nice souvenirs, unique to Japan for our families and friends in Nakamise, the most famous shopping street in Asakusa. Sushi and sake which we had in Tsukiji Outer Market were excellent. We had a really great time. At the end of our tour, Takashi helped plan our departure from Japan by showing us which train to take and even helped purchase our tickets. He also walked us to our hotel door step and followed up with us the next day to make sure we made it to the airport. Couldn’t have asked for a better person to give us a tour of Tokyo.
