About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Z6226EJelizabethw0 contributionsFabulousOur guide, Yoshi, was amazing. He was prompt, communicative, we learned a lot and ate great food and had great drinks. 10/10 recommend!Written 9 October 2024
- cynthiamJ1336KW0 contributionsGreat experience, even for a celiac!Yoshi-san was a fantastic izakaya tour guide! He gave us some great advice about how to find great izakaya, how to avoid bad izakaya, how to order at izakaya, information on the dishes/drinks we ate, and gave us some great information about Japanese culture and food! He also noticed that my husband and I knew some basic chopstick manners and used it as an opportunity to educate us about chopstick manners! Yoshi-san was also very personable and fun to get to know! I felt very taken care of during this tour. As a celiac in Japan, eating can be a really tough challenge (I ate a lot of hard boiled eggs and fruit in Osaka). But Yoshi made sure that I had more than enough celiac-safe food to eat, and fantastic food at that! I had delicious wagyu (for a negligible extra fee), chicken meatballs (tsukune), grilled scallops, stingray fins, fried fish-wrapped cucumber, and potato wedges - all gluten free! The sake was also naturally gluten free and very smooth and fruit-forward - delicious. Finally, we went to a bar with anime-themed drinks for our last drink and Yoshi-san sang a fabulous rendition of "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi, which has been an earworm ever since, haha. Then we all sang karaoke together for a bit before saying good night. Yoshi-san left us with personal food gifts from Japan. It was a really nice touch. And he sent us all the location/food/drinks info from our night! If you're questioning whether or not you should go on this tour, do it! It'll be a great time!Written 30 May 2024
- Nikki940860 contributionsMust do experience if you are first time to Tokyo/JapanI would highly recommend this if you are in Tokyo/Japan for the first time. This tour is a great introduction to Tokyo, Japanese culture, and Shintoism. We both had a great time with our tour guide Midori. She is very knowledgeable and patient. She answered all our questions during the experience. Plus, she is a great photographer. We got so many incredible pictures. The price was quite reasonable, and the timing was perfect. As the tour started in the morning, we had a lot of time to explore nearby areas after the tour in Shibuya. We also went to a park nearby and had some traditional Japanese snacks, which Midori brought for everyone under the Sakura tree. Perfect ending!Written 21 April 2024
- 609teav0 contributionstemple and hanamiIt is worth getting up early and avoiding the crowds (especially in Sakura season). Midori was a wonderful guide and provided us with lots of information. We were lucky to see blessing of a archery team by a priest an a wedding. Instead of the brunch we went to the park for hanami (picnic under cherryblossom tree) which was wonderful. Very recommended.Written 7 April 2024

- Climber5521550 contributionsGreat experienceThis tour came recommended to me by a friend and I’m so glad we did it. Perfect first night in Tokyo. Yoshi was funny, kind, and informative and he went out of his was to make sure I, as a vegan, had tasty things to try. He has relationships with many bars and restaurants so it makes you feel at home in the city. Great experience!Written 3 April 2024
- 413brigidk0 contributionsHighly recommend! This tour was absolutely worth it! I wish we did it at the beginning of our trip because Yoshi taught us so much about Japanese etiquette, tips on how to find great bars or places to eat, and helpful words/phrases. The food and bar choices were great! Fun to try some traditional Japanese items.Written 22 March 2024

- daniellehP9285JC0 contributionsA great night in ShinjukuYoshi was an amazing guide and took us places in Shinjuku that made us feel like we were drinking and eating like locals! The group was a good size of a few other tourists and Yoshi made sure to teach us all a few Japanese customs and etiquette pieces to use later on in our trip. Would recommend to anyone looking to drink and eat in Shinjuku, but not comfortable going into locations by yourself!Written 20 March 2024

- 685carissar0 contributionsCool Morning with Warm New FriendMy host Midori is very knowleagable and kind. I had a private tour though it was not planned. Pictures of the location before it was built and during the process were included which add to appreciating the beautiful area. Midori also had a nice recommendation for an early snack and was willing to help direct me at the end of our meeting. Would love to meet again in the future.Written 12 March 2024
