As soon as we arrive the sake bar, I will serve you ALL type of sake. I will sip a bit of sake together and I will tell you what I feel from each Sake. Also, I'm going to tell you about which type of sake is good for warm, cold or room temperature and explain the meaning of what are written on the label of a bottle, which makes you understand sake type and taste much more! I hand in a basic sake document, so you can review this whenever you like! I give you a hint of which sake is good for eating a different type of Japanese foods.

Great experience, would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was an excellent tour, Aki was super energetic and made sure we had a great time. I joined as a solo traveller, which is fine because the group was super fun, and everyone was very open. The food was delicious at each of the places we visited, I got to try new dishes that I would never have found by myself.

      An absolute must!
An absolute must for foreign visitors in Tokyo - you get into places you would not have even seen on your own, and you eat and drink things you have never heard of before - and all of this together with lots of fun in a group and a real expert in Tokyo food and drink as a guide!

      A truly wonderful dining experience
We had the most amazing dining experience with our host Aki! We have tried various foods and drinks and learned a lot about the Japanese cuisine and way of life. Aki is a wonderful host and is happy to reply to any Japan related questions you might have. We have really enjoyed this dining tour and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy Tokyo with a local friend!

Best possible addition for a trip to Japan
I was recommended this specific tour by friends as the "number one most important thing to do in Japan," and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Aki is super knowledgeable, friendly, and quite funny. All of the food is very unique and delicious. It is very stress free, as reservations are made beforehand so that the group doesn't have to wait at a busy restaurant, and all the meals are included in the trip price. This is without a doubt the best way to learn more about Japanese food, drink, and culture, while having a very fun night.

      Ueno Food Tour
We had an amazing time exploring Ueno with Akira and his assistant on the food tour. It truly felt like discovering the local side of Japan, with authentic Japanese cuisine at every stop. Akira and his team were fantastic hosts, especially accommodating our friend who doesn't drink, ensuring he still felt fully included in the experience. We savored delicious ramen, fresh sushi, a variety of meats, and enjoyed sampling a selection of excellent Japanese drinks along the way. It was a delightful culinary adventure, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to delve into Tokyo's vibrant food scene

Best Ueno Food and Drink tour!
Akira was the best guide ever for our Ueno dive bar experience. Not only was he charming and funny, he enlightened us thoroughly on Japanese food and culture. He took us into fun places we never would’ve found on our own, with excellent food and drinks. I never expected the multi coarse dinner we were treated to, followed by all the fun found after that. Come hungry! Highly recommend this tour!

      Highly recommended!!!
We had an amazing time in ueno. We walked around while listening to Ari tell us about the history of the food and the surrounding buildings, in total we visited three restaurants. We started drinking as soon as we met haha. Although we had a relatively large group (12 ppl), Aki and KiKi took good care of us and made sure everyone enjoyed the experience!

The highlight of my time in Japan
This was the highlight of my trip! I was alone in town for the weekend, and I'm so glad I booked this. Our guide was humorous and high-energy, and being with a group of about six people wandering around town gave us the opportunity to bond. We enjoyed delicious food and saw a bit of the town. I did a similar activity the following day, and it was not nearly as fun as this one. For the amount of food we had at the price, it was a great deal. Highly recommend and many thanks! Tip: The meeting place is just outside the train station, which is a MASSIVE station. You'll have to follow signs throughout the station, but give yourself enough time in advance.

      Fun and delicious tour
My husband, teenage son and I took this took while visiting Tokyo in February 2023. We really enjoyed this tour because the tour guide was very nice and had a fun spirit. The food was delicious and it was awesome exploring through the Ueno area with our group/guide. The food was light at first but we were super full by the end when we had our ramen, so keep that in mind.

TLDR you should go. For someone who has never had sake before, this was a really good introduction to Japanese sake. You will quickly know what types of sake exists and which ones you do or don't enjoy. As a solo traveler, it was fun to do this with a large group, but that also made it less personal. Still I met some great people and would recommend it to anyone.

This was a very tasty, fun, and informative get together. The meeting place was easy to find and Aki arrived early. I had no idea there was such a variety of sakes to enjoy depending on the food and the occasion. I also learned which ones I can avoid buying / ordering. Thanks for a great introduction. I wish I took this at the beginning of my trip.

Aki led an excellent session. Very informative and well paced.
He chose a wonderful variety of sake to illustrate the breadth of sake styles. And then added background information about the sake creation process.
I am raving about this course to all my colleagues and friends. Definitely 5/5

Aki is excellent and made the tour very worthwhile. I recommend it, even for non-sake drinkers as the tour might convert you! There is more than enough sake to sample so don’t worry about not having enough. A perfect blend of the different styles of sake. I will go again.

Aki was an amazing host and very knowledgeable. My friend and I had a private tasting and had a great time. Our Tokyo trip would not have been complete without this experience and now we can knowledgeably choose which sake to choose and bring home. We will be going home with over our liquor limit since we fell in love with sake. We had all kinds of sake from cold to warm from 80% stipulation to 50% or less. If you're curious about the sake culture don't hesitate to do this tasting.

Great seminar. The guide (I'm sorry, I forgot his name) was wonderful. He is passionate & very knowledgable about sake and whiskeys, having studied them for many years. He was anxious to share that knowledge with the group. The day before our seminar he sent very detailed directions with pictures as to where to meet.

Great intro to sake! Aki is super knowledgeable and gives you really good information about how sake is made. He's also really fun! It was great being able to try the different types of sake that we can't get in the States!

Akira-san was very kind and patient with me, by waiting for me at the location. This is especially so when my phone is down and I have no means of contacting him. I had to use the hotel’s computer before meeting him, and he took the initiative to wait for me even after 15min of the original time, when I couldn’t find the location.

With regards to the actual event of tasting, he was very thoughtful to provide an entire document on sake to introduce the brief process of making sake, and the different types of it. During the event, different sakes were provided from clear to unfiltered, from young to aged. This was certainly an eye-opener.

Last but not least, the restaurant staff who prepared the materials were helpful and polite. They served us timely, and provided the sake at the right temperature as per the instructions of Akira-san. The venue was good for the lesson and definitely great for a gathering with friends.

The sake tasting experience with Akira was so interesting. We got to try so many different types of sake and Akira clearly explained each step of the way. He provided information to help you choose sake when purchasing in the future. Akira also helped me choose a bottle of sake to take home. i really enjoyed this experience and highly recommend it.
